Splinterlands - 5 different income streams

Splinterlands is one of the top games on Hive Blockchain. Inside the Hive Ecosystem, there are so many income streams and Splinterlands is one among them, and inside splinterlands, there are multiple income streams. I'm going to talk about the top 5 income streams we have inside Splinterlands. There are still many people who don't know about Splinterlands. Here is a small brief about Splinterlands for people who are hearing about it for the very first time.

Splinterlands is a digital collectible card game that is played online using blockchain technology. In the game, players collect and trade cards featuring a variety of creatures, spells, and other fantasy elements, and use them to battle against each other in strategic card battles. Each card has unique abilities and attributes, and players can build decks of cards to use in battle, choosing from a variety of splinters to create a customized strategy. After purchasing a starter pack which is the Spellbook, Splinterlands can be played for free, but players can also purchase in-game items and cards using real money or cryptocurrency. The game has a large and active community of players, and tournaments and other events are regularly held for players to compete against each other for prizes.

Gameplay rewards

This is the very first income stream. People who are playing the game get a reward in the form of SPS tokens. Earlier it used to be DEC tokens but later Splinterlands decided to introduce a new token called SPS and the rewards are being distributed in the form of SPS tokens. People get a chance to earn cards by claiming rewards. This is the first-ever income stream but it isn't a passive income stream. People will have to play the game regularly to get the gameplay rewards.

SPS staking rewards

SPS is the game token in Splinterlands. People get this token by playing the game regularly or by contributing to diesel pools. Staking the SPS inside the game gives additional APR in the form of Staking rewards. These staking rewards are pretty decent when it comes to APR but the value of SPS is not very stable. During the early days the value was very good and as the circulation started increasing the value also started reducing. Hope someday the value recovers back.

Rental Income in the form of DEC

We can either be a player in the game or just be a collector of NFTs in the game. For being a collector we don't get anything in return. But there is a rental market that can be used to rent out our cards and earn a passive income in the form of DEC tokens from the rental market. This is pretty much the use case now for DEC. The value of DEC is also slowly improving as the supply is reducing. Hopefully, it should soon reach its soft peg value of 1$ per 1000 DEC.

Diesel Pool rewards

This is the liquidity pool we have on Hive Engine. People who would like to swap one of their Splinterlands-related fungible tokens to SWAP.HIVE can do it on Hive Engine. There are also other pools available where people can swap the tokens from SPS to DEC etc. This facility needs liquidity and this liquidity is provided by the users. People are rewarded for providing this liquidity in the diesel pools.

Validator node rewards

The validator node is the next top income stream on Splinterlands. This is still not ready and released but people can purchase a Validator node license from the Splinterlands team and for holding the License we get rewards in the form of SPS and Vouchers. Once the feature is fully released we might get additional rewards.
