Mixed feelings on RNG in blockchain games

These days most blockchain games have the RNG factor in the game. Not just in blockchain game but any game where money is involved RNG is very common. People might think that there is no RNG and it is purely based on skill and progress, but in the background, if that happens to be true, people will have to pay to win the game. When people want both fun and earning from the games, there is this factor of RNG involved in the game which cannot be prevented.

Some of the most successful blockchain games that pay the players for playing the game have RNG in that. Some people know it and some people don't know it and think that they are putting their efforts and skills to play and win the game but most of the time it is not true.

Not everyone likes RNG

I wouldn't say that many people hate RNG but there are a lot of people who hate RNG because of the lack of control over the outcome of their gaming. It is true that RNG can make the game look like a casino but the true factor is that it is important to bring control in the game. Especially in games where digital assets are distributed to the player, there should be some control and if there is no control, the value of the assets would keep going down. In order to introduce control, there is some amount of RNG.

Another reason why people hate RNG is because sometimes if their luck is bad the outcome will not be favorable for them and they hate it when it happens. The main reason here is that they keep losing where there is no fault on them.

People don't want to be treated equally

When there is RNG, there is a high chance that everyone is treated equally in front of the randomness. It is purely how the game developers develop the game. Maybe the game developers can give some additional perks to the high investors and make the RNG outcome more favorable and for people who invest less, the outcome can be a little hard. People hate it because they cannot find out who is better than who. The reason is that luck can favor bad players as well as good players. The gamers who plan for a good strategy to win the game might sometimes get affected and some people who don't have any plans but just give it a try would be more successful because of their luck.

RNG creates a balance in the game

Where have seen a few negative aspects of RNG but we cannot conclude that RNG is completely bad with those points. There are several good reasons why RNG is important. As mentioned earlier, RNG helps in balancing out the rewards. There can be instances where the rewards from the game would keep on going without any other use cases and that can make the asset value go down. When we have RNG, it makes it fair for everyone and everyone gets an equal chance. Some people become happy not when they win something but when someone else is not winning something.

For most of the people, the view is that RNG adds some extra sugar to gamification. In decentralization, random events help in generating rewards for the users. There are people who always want to try their luck and they find RNG interesting because they expect to become very lucky.
