I'm very close to becoming an Orca

Last month I did some massive power-ups on Hive. After having a discussion recently on Neoxian city I just realized that I'm very close to becoming an orca. I still remember the day I became a Dolphin and I was very happy about it and shared my happiness in an article. I'm still not an Orca yet but I'm sure I would become an Orca before the end of the year. The HiveBuzz website provides more details on the same. It doesn't provide exact information on how much is the requirement for each level but it does categorize based on each user.

You might ask what is the exact Hive Power requirement for Orca. The calculation is based on how many vesting shares we hold. I'm able to find some old articles from the Steem days that describes the power requirement for each level. Earlier we used to start with Plankton and nowadays it is called Red Fish. But Minnow is something like an odd man out here.

My Hive power has reached over 41k now. I still have only around 8k more Hive power to become an Orca. I'm not sure if HiveBuzz has any badge for becoming Orca. Maybe it doesn't make sense in issuing such a badge to users because sometimes people power up and become a whale and sometimes they power down everything. So it may not be appropriate to issue such badges I guess. I referred to this old post to get this value.

After doing some massive power-up recently it somehow makes me feel that powering up another 8000 Hive before the end of the year shouldn't be a big deal. I don't know if that is overconfidence or not. Last year I'm sure I suffered to power up 5000 Hive in total for my whole year goal. It was not at all easy. Considering the fact that the price of Hive is low right now, I feel it is a good opportunity to grow the Hive power and that's why I'm confident that it should be possible to power up soon and become an Orca. Becoming a whale is far far away for me. It would take some more years. Let's see.

You really referred to the very old post Bala.
Hive power requirement of Ocra keep increasing with each block produce in Blockchain.

Current requirement is now close to 55K but I am hopeful that you will be able to cross it also.

I think you are a little further away than you might think as 55k is Orca. That means your 41K needs another 14K and in 6 months would be some going and hope you make it but it is not that close. You will get there at some point so don't stress and just enjoy yourself until it happens.

Hi! Congrats on your account growth.
I've only been on Hive for a little less than a year and I'll be very happy if I can reach 2000 HP before July, 5 which is technically my first anniversary.

And I agree that with the price of Hive as it is now, we have a great opportunity to grow our accounts. So good luck with your goal :)

Are the numbers in the table correct? I was thinking the numbers were more around 540 or so now for a minnow.

The ever changing of Hive requires ever changing Hive power in order to remain on top.
