HPUD September 2024 - Powered up 8000 Hive
I'm unsure how many more months we have to deal with the low Hive price. But the good thing is that it is allowing us to power up more Hive and get ready for the next bull market. I have seen low prices of Hive in the past and have also seen a massive pump followed by that. This has been a cycle and has been repeated multiple times in the past. That's what gives me confidence that even if the price is very bad right now, it will recover some day allowing us to book some profits.
This month I made power up on two of my accounts one is my primary account and another is my project account. I have had a lot of Hive on Hive Engine for a very long time in the @kanibot project account. I thought why not power up them and put them into use instead of keeping them idle? That's why I decided to do a power-up. So totally I powered up 8000 Hive this month which is huge compared to what I regularly do every month. On my primary account, I powered up 3000 Hive and on the @kanibot account I powered up 5000 Hive.
Some people power up then and there whenever they have but I usually accumulate it and wait for the start of the month to power it up. This lets me participate in HPUD and at the same time it is also easy for me to maintain my stats. The other reason why I want to keep some liquid throughout the month is because if there is a sudden increase in the price of Hive, I get the opportunity to sell them and book my profits. That's a rare incident but who knows it can happen.
When I initially started this year, I thought I would not be doing more power-ups but the price of Hive is tempting and it is making me invest more into Hive. I don't have any other investment in the crypto world and I'm pretty much keeping all my eggs in the same basket. But hopefully, the price recovers and that should be sufficient for me.
I like evaluating my stats and comparing them with my previous month's stats. The curation rewards that I get are the most attractive thing for me. The reason is that that is one passive income that we can get on Hive for holding our stake. The author rewards something additional. We have to be consistent with writing to earn the author rewards but we can continue to get curation rewards based on how we curate. This can be automated. I would like to see my stake increase and with that, I would like to see the curation rewards also increase.
The above is the stats from my other account which tracks the witness rewards. I used to have some HBD in savings in this account but I stopped doing that now. The HBD APR has also been reduced to 15 percent now. As the APR has reduced now, I don't know if the focus will now be on Hive which has the advantage of appreciation compared to HBD which provides a flat 15%.
