HPUD - Powered Up 2000 Hive

As we are stepping into a fresh 2024 new year. I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year and wish you all great success. It is a brand new year and the first date of every month is the Hive power-up day. I managed to power up 2000 Hive today on the occasion of Hive power-up day. I thought I would be able to make it to 100k Hive power before the end of the last year but I couldn't do it just with Power-ups alone.

I wouldn't say that I did not achieve my goals. Combining the Hive power I have on my primary account and my secondary account, I have already crossed 100k Hive power which was my goal for 2023. I have to admit that it was not an easy goal. I had to manage some of my real-world expenses like server costs and at the same time do a big power-up. It was not an easy one I should say. But I'm glad that I managed to complete my goal. The next biggest question would be to find out what would be my next goals.

To be very frank, I have not planned on doing huge power-ups this year. I'm starting with a big power-up but I don't think I will be doing big power-ups on HPUD. I'll make sure I still participate because it is fun to have some common goal and keep moving towards that. I have a few plans on what should be my goals for the new year. I have a few real-world commitments that I should take care of. This year I'm going to be having a big expense in my real world. I don't think I will be able to bring any new investments from the real world to the crypto world.

This week, I'm going to be doing another article explaining some of my personal goals. It may not be completely related to Hive but I have already planned a few personal goals for myself in 2024. Diversification is going to be an important goal in that list. Currently, I have a huge investment just inside Hive alone. I would like to take my focus on a few additional investments so that I don't keep all my eggs in the same basket.

This year again I will continue to do some power-ups but I'm not sure if I would be able to do bigger power-ups. I will try to do it though. But my focus is also on getting some funds for other investments. I don't think I will miss any power-ups this year too because I still want to grow my Hive power and stay invested in Hive. I don't have any concrete value in my mind but it would be nice to reach 150k before the end of next year. I would be lucky if I still can double my Hive power before the end of next year.

The above graph shows my account data from last month. I like the way how my curation rewards are increasing. Of course, I'm also happy about my author rewards but I'm very much happy about the curation rewards. The reason is that curation rewards are more passive compared to other rewards we get on Hive. I'm glad that I was able to write every single day in the last year. This I consider as a big achievement.

The above graph shows the data from my secondary account @balaz which has the witness earnings. It has been a while since I wrote articles on that account. It currently has only my witness earnings. I wish to increase my Hive power even further so that the curation rewards also become self-sufficient for a passive income. But it would take a lot of effort. The next focus will also be on HBD. I used to have a lot of HBD but I have converted them to Hive hoping that Hive would grow well in the next bull market. I will have to think if I should again be focusing on HBD this year because 20% APR is something that is an amazing return.
