The Quiet Morning at Karon Beach

Hello everyone

The sun had just begun to rise, casting a golden glow across the sleepy town as I drove my son to school. It was early, the kind of early where the world feels quiet and still as if holding its breath in anticipation of the day ahead. After a quick goodbye, I watched him disappear into the school building, his backpack bouncing with each step.

With the morning stretching out before me, I decided to head towards Karon Beach, one of my favorite places to visit when the world is still waking up. I slid back into the driver's seat, started the engine, and felt a sense of calm wash over me. Morning drives were my little escape, a peaceful ritual where I could enjoy the smooth, uninterrupted flow of the road.

As I drove, the streets were nearly empty, a rare sight in this usually bustling town. The lack of traffic made the drive even more enjoyable. The city seemed to belong only to me at that hour, the roads wide open and inviting. The gentle hum of the engine was the perfect soundtrack to the serene morning.

In the morning, not only does the traffic flow smoothly, but the parking lot is also free and you can easily find a spot. Today, I chose to park in front of the large golden Naga statue, the symbol of Karon Beach. This statue is significant because most Thais revere the Naga, believing it to be a protective creature that brings good fortune.

As I pulled into the lot, it was a relief to see so many available spaces. I parked right by the Naga statue, appreciating its grandeur and the cultural significance it holds. The statue gleamed in the morning light, a reminder of the beliefs and traditions that are deeply rooted in Thai culture. It felt like a good omen for the day ahead.

The morning atmosphere was very quiet, with only a few tourists scattered around. The sky wasn’t as beautiful as when the sun was fully out, as it was still early and we were in the middle of the rainy season. When visiting the beach, it's important to consider the weather conditions. The rainy season brings higher winds and waves compared to other times of the year. These strong waves often wash up the trash that people have discarded into the sea, leaving it scattered all over the beach.

As I walked along the shore, I noticed the beach was full of trash and plastic. It made me feel very sad to see how poorly humans take care of the environment. The contrast between the natural beauty of the beach and the litter strewn across it was disheartening, a stark reminder of our impact on nature.

Even though the sky wasn't as bright as it is in summer, its beauty hadn't diminished at all. The weather was pleasantly cool, allowing me to walk and sit by the sea for a long time without feeling hot or uncomfortable. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the tranquil atmosphere, completely captivated by the beauty of the sea.

Sitting there, gazing at the waves, I felt incredibly relaxed. The rhythmic sound of the water and the gentle breeze created a perfect setting for unwinding. I was so content and at peace that I didn't want to get up and go anywhere. I sat there for quite some time, soaking in the serene surroundings and feeling grateful for this quiet moment by the sea.
