Phuket's Pollution Problem: A Threat to the Tourism Industry
Thailand is known for its pristine beaches, crystal clear waters, and breathtaking scenery. However, in recent times, the country has been facing a major environmental issue that has been causing a lot of problems. Air pollution has become a serious concern, especially in the popular tourist destination of Phuket. The level of air pollutants in Thailand and Phuket has been exceeding the standard set by the government, resulting in a thick layer of dust covering the sky. The situation has become so severe that on some days, the sky and clouds are not visible at all. This has resulted in a significant decline in tourism, as visitors are not keen to visit the place when the weather is not suitable.
Yesterday, I decided to go and watch the sunset at Promthep Cape. It had been almost a year since I last watched the sunset there. Usually, I would come to exercise in the mornings, but this time, I wanted to see the sky at dusk. As I reached Promthep Cape, I was hoping to see a clear sky and the sun slowly going down. However, the weather had other plans. The sky was covered in a thick layer of dust, and the sun was barely visible. It was a disappointment for me and the many tourists who had come to see the sunset. Initially, I had planned to walk down to Plai Laem, but the weather had other plans. I returned home, disappointed and saddened by the state of the environment in Phuket. The beauty of the place was being marred by the thick layer of dust, and it was disheartening to see how it was affecting the tourism industry.
As I went to bed that night, I hoped for a change in the weather and for the government to take necessary steps to address the issue of air pollution. Until then, the people of Phuket and Thailand would have to bear the brunt of this environmental crisis.

Yes, right. Air pollution is very disturbing because it can have a negative impact on the health of humans, animals and the environment. Inhaled pollutant particles can enter the respiratory tract, irritate the lungs, and trigger various health problems such as respiratory diseases, asthma, and even cancer. In addition, air pollution can also damage the environment, such as reducing the quality of water and soil, destroying vegetation, and threatening the survival of wildlife. Therefore, it is important to reduce air pollution and protect the environment so that it remains healthy and sustainable for future generations.
Oh yes, your photos are great. i have never been to thailand. But one day I will go there with my family to enjoy the holidays there. Thank you for sharing.
Indeed, pollution is a worldwide problem not only in Phuket, but if we talk about Thailand, this country has become extremely visited by a lot of tourists, that means that there are extremely many planes landing in the area, there are many means of transport that pollute.
I don't think the pollution standards are being met and so on a sunny day, instead of sun, beach and sand, we will only see smog in the sky from pollution.
