新正如意 新年发财 Happy Chinese new year 2023
Chinese New Year the streets of Phuket are filled with excitement and anticipation. Many Thai people of Chinese descent call Phuket home, and in the Phuket Old Town, shrines are decorated with beautiful red lanterns, signaling the start of the celebration.
I had the opportunity to visit one of these shrines, the Sangtham Shrine, which is a popular spot for tourists to pay homage, ask for blessings, and take photos. The shrine was bustling with activity as people came and went, offering their wishes for good health, prosperity, and good luck throughout the year.
Not far from the Sangtham Shrine is the dragon courtyard, a popular park where people come to exercise both in the evening and the morning. The front area of the park features a large and fearsome golden dragon in the middle of a fountain. It is another popular spot for tourists to take pictures when visiting Phuket Old Town.
As the Chinese New Year is a time for family, friends, and community, I wish you all good health, prosperity and good luck throughout the year. And If you ever have the chance to visit Phuket Old Town during this time, do not miss the chance to see the beautiful shrines and the dragon courtyard. Happy Chinese New Year!

I'm fascinated by the culture in your area, by the way those red lanterns (I think that's their name) I've seen them in Romania at Chinese restaurants.
Happy Chinese New Year!
Thank you for your interest in the culture of the area where I am located! The red lanterns you mentioned are commonly associated with Chinese culture, particularly during the Chinese New Year. They are often used as decorations in Chinese restaurants and other businesses. Happy Chinese New Year!
