LADIES OF HIVE #CONTEST 130- MY WEAPON OF CHOICE IN AN APOCALYPSE

If I were to imagine myself in an apocalypse, I would have to use a movie to as reference and the movie that comes straight to my mind is a Korean series I watched not too long ago titled KINGDOM. Kingdom was about a virus going around in the pre-historic Korean empire. This virus turned humans to zombies who ate other humans and also turned them to zombies. It originated from a deadly flower and spread like wildfire.

Now, I am imagining myself being in that situation, probably watching the news and seeing how the virus is taking over and the reporters going on about the end of the world. They report that the virus has already infested the town next to ours and a rush and panic has started in my town. Everyone is trying to get different things to protect themselves or trying to find a place they can stay safe. I also would be doing that- looking for weapons and a safe place.

So the first thing I would get is a pocket knife, I would need something very small and easily concealable but swiftly dangerous. Then I would also get fuel, lighters and match sticks. I need things that can start big and small fires. Since I have no other information about this except what movies show and almost all movies show that fire is something that kills or destroys any dead being, whether they are vampires, mummies or zombies. So whichever crazy being wants to arise, it should be able to be destroyed by fire but I am also aware that using fire can be detrimental to me. So I would get fire protective clothing as well. The fire could get out of my control and harm me, so the protective clothing would protect me from that.

While typing this, a thought crossed my mind.

An apocalypse might not be a day event. It is the world coming to an end. It could last for years and maybe forever. So whatever I am getting must be something that its supply cannot easily run down or that does not need a supply. So that means the fuel and fire might not be a good weapon on a long term. I mean, how many liters of fuel could I get that could last me for days and if I was in a situation where I had to run, how would I be able to get a refill?

All right, scratch everything I wrote. Let us start again.

If I were stuck in an apocalypse, I would still get a pocket knife. Then my next choice would be two swords because they are sharp and they do not need external supply to operate. I would have chosen a gun but I could run out of bullets in the middle of a fight. So I would stick with the swords. It is quite old school and I am not an experienced kungfu master but it is reliable and strong weapon.

Thinking back, my friends and I have discussed about this before and I have always jokingly said I would be the first to die if there were ever an apocalypse. I just do not see a reason to fight and fight. There are over millions of people in the world, how many zombies do I want to fight till I win? That aside, I would still keep myself equipped. Even if I was going to be the first to go down, I would still not give up easily.

Si tuviera que imaginarme en un apocalipsis, tendría que usar una película como referencia y la película que me viene directamente a la mente es una serie coreana que vi hace poco titulada KINGDOM. Kingdom trataba sobre un virus que circulaba por el imperio coreano prehistórico. Este virus convirtió a los humanos en zombis que se comieron a otros humanos y también los convirtieron a ellos en zombis. Se originó a partir de una flor mortal y se extendió como un reguero de pólvora.

Ahora, me imagino a mí mismo en esa situación, probablemente viendo las noticias y viendo cómo el virus se está apoderando y los reporteros hablan sobre el fin del mundo. Informan que el virus ya infestó el pueblo vecino al nuestro y en mi pueblo se ha desatado un apuro y pánico. Todos están tratando de obtener diferentes cosas para protegerse o tratando de encontrar un lugar donde puedan estar seguros. Yo también estaría haciendo eso, buscando armas y un lugar seguro.

Entonces, lo primero que obtendré es una navaja de bolsillo, necesito algo muy pequeño y fácil de ocultar pero rápidamente peligroso. Luego también recibo combustible, encendedores y cerillas. Necesito cosas que puedan iniciar incendios grandes y pequeños. Ya que no tengo otra información sobre esto excepto lo que muestran las películas y casi todas las películas muestran que el fuego es algo que mata o destruye a cualquier ser muerto, ya sean vampiros, momias o zombis. Entonces, cualquier ser loco que quiera surgir, debería poder ser destruido por el fuego, pero también soy consciente de que usar el fuego puede ser perjudicial para mí. Un apocalipsis podría no ser un evento de un día. Es el mundo llegando a su fin. Podría durar años y tal vez para siempre. Entonces, lo que sea que obtenga debe ser algo que su suministro no pueda agotarse fácilmente o que no necesite un suministro. Eso significa que el combustible y el fuego podrían no ser buenas armas a largo plazo. Es decir, cuantos litros de combustible puedo conseguir que me dure para dias y si estoy en una situacion en la que tengo que correr cuanto tiempo me va a llevar el combustible que llevo?

Si estoy atrapado en un apocalipsis, todavía obtendré esa navaja de bolsillo. Entonces iría con dos espadas porque están afiladas y no necesitan suministro externo para funcionar. Habría elegido un arma, pero podría quedarme sin balas en medio de una pelea. Así que me quedaría con las espadas. Es bastante de la vieja escuela y no soy un maestro de kungfu experimentado, pero es un arma confiable y fuerte.

Pensando en retrospectiva, mis amigos y yo hemos discutido sobre esto antes y siempre he dicho en broma que sería el primero en morir si alguna vez hubiera un apocalipsis.
