The ultimate minetest adventure : Journey to the Icy temple
In a not so faraway land on the night of the hive pump, 6 days ago at this exact moment. Three brave adventurers from Neoxian city just finished embarking on one of the greatest adventures you'll ever see. Slaying monsters, climbing hills, through the desert, across the seas, and so on. So I don't go ahead of myself, let me start from the very beginning.
Before these brave adventurers even knew they were brave adventurers they were normal men just like you, but there needed to be a reason, that driving force that would set them above the rest. And that was this
This message was short, yet it was full of so much information. No one knew this "correct location" that the dragon spoke about. Everyone was intrigued yet confused.
Meanwhile, professor @xabi had been creating a small quest himself when he saw this one and decided to put his skills to good use.
"Where do all big quests start?" he asked himself
"in the library." he thought
He swiftly went to the library and lo and behold, there was something there. Just like that, he'd cracked the first piece of the puzzle.
The signs spoke of an icy temple in the east, beyond the jungle and the seas. Get there and you win the dragon's doot as well as 10 HBD. Xabi took off immediately, he needed to make sure his lead counted. Mr D and @rosecane the city minetester were enjoying watching him figure it out so they tagged along.
Elsewhere @vickoly the human Augment and @b0s (self-explanatory name) were thinking of what the dragon meant by those words when they saw Xabi moving like a man on a mission. They decided to just follow him.
They crossed one or two mountains and made it to the open sea. By then Xabi was far ahead. They kept chasing and soon b0s caught up. Vickoly the augment was a bit slower because for some reason he preferred walking on water than using boats. They even joked about it and called him Jesus at one point.
On getting to an Island Mr D announced that this quest was PVP and that if anyone wanted they could take out each other. b0s and Xabi stared at each other each wielding a sword and keeping a safe distance so there wouldn't be any surprises. Xabi eventually claimed he was just messing around, but b0s was not taking any chances.
Because of this Vickoly caught up. It was then the pair realized that fighting would only slow them down and make things harder. They decided it was better to team up and share the prize.
Through the savanna, desert, and forest, the pair powered through in search of snow, for they knew this was where the Icy temple would be. In other to avoid getting killed by monsters, at night they'd build tall podiums and stand on them.
Finally, they saw Ice. It was clear they were getting closer to the temple. But then things got difficult. Vickoly's boatlessness made him an easy target for a shark that killed him. It was painful as he'd respawn at a very far location. They'd spent hours getting there.
B0s and Xabi were selfless and rather than move on, decided they wouldn't go on without him.
Xabi begged MR D and he agreed to bring Vickoly back. The pair breathed a sigh of relief and thanked MR D. He admitted he shouldn't interfere but it was a lot of fun watching them. They spent the night there discussing and watching MR D and rosecane kill some monsters.
By sunrise, they continued their journey. Another lovely Minetest morning.
They knew they were close, but then night came very quickly. Xabi and Vickoly had already built their tall podium as usual and were on it. b0s was behind and was running toward the others when an Ice monster intercepted him and killed him.
Vickoly and Xabi stood on their podiums and watched in dismay. All of a sudden they were rushed by spiders. The spiders climbed their podiums so quickly and killed them as well. It felt like that was game over, but then MR D came to the rescue.
He spawned them back to the snowy mountains but apart from each other. He also assured them that that would be the last time he'd save them.
They were all in survival mode as it was still night and all their supplies were in their bones which they couldn't risk searching for at that time. b0s and Vickoly dug holes and hid themselves inside trees, while Xabi built another podium on a tree.
Soon it was morning and the pair continued their search. Xabi went ahead as he found his bones quickly, while b0s and Vickoly found their bones first.
Xabi spotted the temple and got there first.
He brought out the special book and showed it to MR D.
He kept to his word and split the prizes with b0s and Vickoly who arrived
moments later
Mr D announced them winners and from then on it was all rejoicing and exploring.
Eventually the brave adventurers all left and retired to their beds. It was a good sleep too, as it was a job well done.

I joined in on the minetest server yesterday, and the established community has been very helpful in getting me started, which is greatly appreciated. slowly improving my house as I get materials.

Oh yeah, I saw you on the server today. You're doing really well. Have you played minecraft before? Those who understand everything as quickly as you have usually have minecraft experience.
Yeah it's a really fun game to play, and we've been adding new things to the game recently so its brought new life to it.

yes, I've played a fair amount. right now, having trouble getting stairs to set right for a roof. saw that there are recipes for sloped slabs, but the recipe is for taking those sloped slabs and making planks, not making the actual sloped slab block. weird.
The community on server is great thus far. helpful and friendly. Hope to be able to help the community and contribute to it more as time goes on.

The quest was such a mind-blowing one, I had a great time, although it lasted through the night, but fortunately it was weekend.

Minetest looks like a promising open world and great journey fulfilling the quest. I am amazed how creative are people and they never stop, always trying to come with something new.
Yeah, there's a lot of creativity going on there. We've a beautiful village block by block over time.
