Is giving up a viable option?

Life can be hard. At times things just choose to be unnecessarily tough for no specific reason. Now I'm not someone who can say my life has been unnecessarily hard or unlivable. They have been tough times, and there probably will still be a lot more in the future. I am already preparing myself mentally to face them head on if or when they come around.

I have access to all this information and being a very curious person I like to jump down the rabbit hole a lot. I've learnt a lot of good things that probably at the time didn't feel helpful or important, but eventually did come in handy at some random unexpected point. At the same time I have also seen things I don't ever want to see in my life again. Mind boggling, straight up weird, creepy and horrific things. I won't be focusing on those though as I don't want to think about things like that (too late)

Anyways, I have read some stories of people who have definitely had it worse than me. Lots of sad ones, things beyond their control, like where they were born, how they look, things like that just ruin them. Then probably they meet the wrong people and things just spiral downhill. Some actually manage to escape the rut with so much effort, some start the process and then fall back in after a while, and some choose to just give up and stay in the rut, making it their home. Probably even find solace in it. It's sad really when this happens.

Are there some things that some people just can't have? I ask myself this question a lot. There's the saying you can't have it all so I guess that at least somewhat answers my question.

Is there ever a reason to give up? Since we can't have it all, what if that one thing we desire so much with all our heart is the one thing we can't have? So what happens from there? Keep trying to get that one thing that we know is impossible for us to get and end up wasting so much time and energy, or giving up and coming to peace with the fact that we can't have that thing. I mean it'll save so much time that would otherwise be spent in pain, agony, frustration, and anger trying to get that which we can't get.

You know it's funny how normally I'm always on the side of "never give up", "keep pushing", and that's good (I'm still on that side), but tonight for whatever reason I decided to look things from a different perspective than I normally do and honestly I think that's a good thing for me (never good to be close minded)

What do you think? Is there ever a time when giving up is the best option?

~THANKS FOR READING~

In life you can't always have everything, you will get some and others will also have the rest. Giving up at some point doesn't necessarily mean you have failed. What that is not meant for you will never be good in your possession the earlier we accept that the better, and we can also have the Chance to focus on others.

I agree with this. Though at times, it is not easy to see when something isn't meant for you. Thanks for stopping by man.

"Never give us"
it's easy to say but not so easy to maintain in life because life incidents can give us a tough time and it's become hard for people. But in the end, those people can move forward who have a strong mentality, courage and don't give up.

I know right, it's so much easier to say than to actually do. Though I actually believe there are geniune situations where giving up and moving on is the only option.

At some point giving up is necessary, and at another it isn't an option. Certain situations require different approach

Thanks for sharing.. From my side, I've personally been through a lot, suffering a nervous breakdown some years back. I just can't give up tho. Nor can I simply accept things for the way they are. Though at the same time, I have become accepting that some things are out of my control. At first glance that may sound contradictory, though it's not. It was in my darkest time, when I found my faith too. It is through my faith, that I now have greater clarity.

I think I get what you're saying. One must not give up on life, but there are some things one must accept are no longer possible.

Some situations actually call for giving up really. Humans have threshold for everything. You can only keep on trying and holding on only within the confines of your threshold for that specific situation. Beyond such individualized thresholds, giving up is the only more profitable option. Feel me?

I think I do. I'm I'm not mistaken. You're saying everyone has a limit, and once we go beyond that limit, the most profitable option would be to give up, right?

Don't you want to give up on a certain toxic relationship?

I just gave an instance to buttress my point. We are on the same page, I guess.
