98 Degrees Had A Potential
Back in 1990s, there are so many boybands formed, but only a few really made a mark in music industry. Backstreet Boys is undoubtedly at the top of their game, by which NSYNC came as a rival. There's another boyband which had a potential to serve as a rival of Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, however, they fell short and considered as the guys behind the two biggest boybands of their time. It's no other than 98 Degrees.

The guys made a debut with "Invisible Man" but the support for the self-titled album ended quickly with the song the only hit reaching number 12 in Billboard Hot 100. In just a year, 98 Degrees released their second album "98 Degrees and Rising". The career of the group took off after scoring multiple hits. "Because of You", the lead single, became a number 3 hit at the Billboard Hot 100, and it was followed by "The Hardest Thing", which reached number 5. The single even toppled the Backstreet Boys hit song "I Want It That Way", which was stuck at number 6 of Billboard Hot 100 at that time.

"I Do (Cherish You)" was also released which became a number 13 hit in the US. The song was also added on the soundtrack of the hit movie "Notting Hill" starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts. Not long after, 98 Degrees appeared at the number 1 hit of Mariah Carey, alongside Joe, "Thank God I Found You".
In 2000, 98 Degrees had the chance to battle against NSYNC, the most popular boyband at that time, through their album "Revelation". The album peaked at number 2 in the US, and had gone 2x platinum. It also featured the Billboard number 2 hit "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)". It was followed by the number 36 hit "My Everything", and after that, they had gone hiatus and reunited a number of times.
