Hi everyone who has always been loyal to this CCH community. Especially for you photography lovers. How are you all doing? May the good news always be with you. On this occasion, I would like to share my shots of an ornamental plant called Adiantum or in my area known as Suplir. When I was taking a walk in my yard, I saw this plant and I was interested in photographing it. Some of these photos were taken using my smartphone, more precisely I used a Samsung A03.

Suplir is a popular fern for room or garden decoration that belongs to the genus Adiantum, which belongs to the tribe Vittarioideae, tribe Pteridaceae. The name "suplir" is an adaptation of the French chevelure, which means "all the hair on the head", a name introduced by the Dutch during the colonial period.

There are more than 200 species of Adiantum distributed worldwide (220 - 230 species). The center of diversity is in South America, particularly in the Andes Mountains region (229 species and 5 natural hybrids recorded). Members of this genus favor damp areas on cliffs or rock outcroppings or damp walls, near streams and in shade. Most are found in wet areas on hills. In Southeast Asia alone there are an estimated 10-20 species of Adiantum. In the Papuasia region, there are 12 species of Adiantum.

Through trade and ornamental plant breeding, American species were brought to other regions and interbreeding, selection and mutation led to the emergence of new cultivars with new characteristics.

That's some knowledge about this plant and its photography. Hope it was useful and that you liked and enjoyed it. Thank you for everything. See you next time. I take my leave, greetings from a lover of nature and its contents.
