A Walk To A Colour Festival || Wednesday Walk
Hello Everyone ππ
It is your girl @ayomipo again and Wednesday is here again, I am always excited I will be sharing amazing pictures of my walk every Wednesday in this community. This morning I was bored at home and had nothing to do, so I heard there was a festival happening at our school. My friends persuaded me we should go together, I had no other choice than to go so I would be able to share my walk with my friends and family.
Color Festival is an initiative to bring us together to celebrate our unique cultural heritage as a people. Moreover, all tribes coming together to celebrate as one patriotic people is the core purpose of this event. This is a festival with no tribal differences. It is also part of our social day where students have a day off to enjoy and have fun throughout that day. There is an adage that says "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" and obviously if there is no fun at all there will be issues in our daily lives.
This is my beautiful self here, I dressed up to be ready for the Colour Festival. The dress code given was white, so I wore my white top so I would be able to participate also in the festival.
We played different games, danced and also ate till will could not eat again. The most entertaining part which I loved was the cooking competition. The contestants were asked to cook spaghetti sauce, and they were given time to start and also end. Here is one of the contestants who is making her own food, they were being graded on their work by the judges and we the spectators.
These people had to do their best because there was a price award given to the winner, I was surprised when I saw a guy part of the contestants. I wondered why a guy should be contesting for cooking and competing with a girl. Everyone one of us judged the guy even before he started his cooking, we already concluded he wouldn't win and his food wouldn't be good. But to our greatest surprise, this guy actually proved to us that what a woman can do in a kitchen a man can also do. The foods were given to the judges to grade them and announce the winner ππ
It was time for games here and they picked some sort of ladies who could participate in the game. I am very sure we are familiar with the game, sack race is a competitive game in which participants place both of their legs inside a sack (usually potato sack) or pillow case that reaches their waist or neck and hop forward from a starting point toward a finish line. The first person to cross the finish line is the winner of the race.
For me leaving my house and taking a walk around this event was really worth it, because I was no longer bored I was happy to some extent. Walking and taking beautiful pictures makes you feel good and helps to create memories you've been wanting to create for a long time. You might not be interested in my story but I hope you find the pictures entertaining on my Wednesday Walk.
