Irrigation farming assures supply of fresh crop by framers during harmattan (dry) season
HELLO HIVE
It is definitely dry season already most farmers are already reaping the outcome of the effort put into their work for the year, for some farmers like me we take a break and wait until next year when the rain starts falling again then we return to the farm and start all over again but for other farmers there is nothing like time to rest ,while we are resting they are planting another sets of crops that they will harvest between the month of January - March ,these farmers own irrigation machines and other mechanical device that will aid their farming activities during this period .
While many crops have already being harvested, bag and put in the storage crops like maize have already being harvested and stored this farmers are still having fresh maize on their farm these farms are close to some sought of water source which makes things easier and the soil in these kinds of land are not clay which means that the land will not dry up on time to the level of seeing cracks in the land that way the plant can survive cause the land is soft and the plant is getting water at least once every three days .
Someone in Nigeria should probably know the importance of fresh maize in Nigeria because it can serve as food it self ,if you walk around you will see road side sellers of roasted maize but they sometimes disappear once the harvesting period of maize has passed but farmers who are into irrigation farming do supply some of this people at a higher cost .

This corns looks very good, I believe that irrigation is a good way for growing crops in the dry season and this has proven how effective that can be....
To me I believe so much in irrigation
