![IMG_20231007_105(1)potatoes are harvested in most part of the country and the price has gone down drastically, the intriguing part of this crop is how it disappears from the market few months after this harvesting period has passed and this all comes down to the fact that it is more
difficult to preserve tubers unlike cereals. Local farmers find it hard to preserve this tuber crop and without any available process to preserve it farmers would rather cultivate small portions of potatoes to prevent them from being on the side of spoilage.
I am one of those farmers affected by this and I usually cultivate only a few lines of it every year to put my self on the positive side of
this, potatoes is a very common meal and you can hardly work a few distance before seeing a side dish prepared from potatoes, it could be fried, cooked and even roasted by some locals for food. It takes barely three months before we starting harvesting it and some are bagged directly from the farm and sold in the market
