Leadership Contest

A leadership contest is a form of competitive arrangement where by individual line up for positions of leadership within an organization, political party, a group of people or corporation. This contest often involves candidates presenting their visions and plans during manifesto in order the support of members, colleagues or voters.

The outcome of the contest determines who is to be the next leader within the organization, this contest is conducted in order to avoid bias or conduct a fair appointment of a leader.
I could remember the time students were given the chance to nominate themselves for perfectship in the school where I work. Some of them in their manifesto made promises they knew they were going to fulfill to their juniors in order to get their support to vote and some got some goodies to influence support and despite all these didn't win the election.
I believe the aim of every leadership contest is to appointment leaders fairly and squarely
