Brag About It (My Final Year Project)
It was a good day in 500L. I got information that our final project topics had been posted on the departmental board, so I rushed there to pick a good one as quickly as I could. I chose the topic for my project, "Housing Satisfaction and Post-Occupancy Evaluation of Hostel. "What gave me peace regarding the project was realizing that our HOD was my supervisor, one of the best and easiest-going lecturers in school. If I can put it that way, she's late now, may her soul rest in peace.
To cut a long story short, she gave me guidance on how to go about it. So, I chose a postgraduate hostel in the school as my case study. I started my research early to show others how dedicated I was to my project. I trekked to the postgraduate hostel from my department, which is a little far but walkable. On my first day at the hostel, I made friends with their governor to give me easy access anytime I visited.
The next time I was there, I shared my questionnaires with some students I met outside their rooms in the hostel. I also knocked on doors and entered some rooms. Some filled them out and returned them immediately, while others said I had to come back for them.
I kept going there every single day and made friends. It was fun. Some of them thought I was there to solve their issues because my questionnaire was designed to assess how satisfied they were with their housing and housing facilities.
I put in a lot of effort and believed I did my best in preparing my report. In the end, I got a B, though I had hoped for an A.
