Raid And Coffee Date

I don't have any plans for the day and supposedly, I was determined to just face the screen until midnight doing some usual stuff like blogging, reading, and studying but a friend of mine have messaged me. She said that she was going to her previous university to process some documents so she can claim her allowance from her scholarship. Then, she invited me for a coffee. Though, I don't feel like going out for the day but hearing the word "coffee", I was into it in a moment without any hesitations.

After we agreed to where would be the venue of our meet up, I prepared myself as fast as I could. I wasn't just used that I'm making people wait because I respect their time as much as they respect mine. Her university wasn't that far from me where I am currently. It's literally just two streets away from me and I could be there for five minutes or less depending how much cars are there when I crossed the road. I'll wait for it to lessen if their are no traffic lights in that particular street.

I meet her at the gates of their university. She let me choose where would be going to drink our coffee while we are having our conversations to catch up with each other. We have a friend who is working in a cafe near us, so I suggested why not in there. She agreed but the problem was, we don't know how to get there.

What to do next but to ask for help from our dearest friend GOOGLE. 😆 We have located the cafe but it's not in the roadside where we could just see as we are riding in a jeep. I messaged our friend saying that we would be going to raid his workplace but we don't know how to get there. I was just hoping that phones are allowed during their working hours, so that he could reply to me. And there, fortunately he was!

When we arrived in front of the building, we saw their church but not the cafe. We were in a dilemma again if we arrived in the exact location or not. He messaged us again that the cafe is in the second floor and that gave us a relief.

It looks like an ordinary office in the outside located in a secluded street where not so many cars are passing by. Yet, you'll be surprised for what's waiting for you when you go inside.

Inside of the cafe is cozy and quiet. Just a perfect place if you want to held bible studies because it is owned by a church, also to have a group study, or just yourself alone enjoying the aroma of coffee and eating meals that they offer.

Our friend is a member of the church who owned the cafe, so they are allowed to work here full time or part time. They are even sleeping here in the building because they are serving their church after school or work and just go home in their days off, and when the cafe have to close, or they wanted to have a leave of absence.

He wasn't there when we entered, but a high school classmate of us who is working for part time there, approached us and give us the menu.

We haven't eaten our lunch yet, so we decided to have a rice meal and a cup of coffee but we can't decide which one to order. We were embarrassed to keep him waiting. Gladly, our friend came out at last and took over. We asked him for recommendations.

He suggested the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. We trust him, so we just went with it and choose marinara as its sauce. They only have cold drinks in the menu, so I just asked him if he could not put milk and sugar on my coffee. I guess, he already memorized my preferences that before I could finish saying my requests, he cut me out and suggested a Brewed Coffee even though they don't offer that in their menu. Such a good friend... 🤗

She's not used to drinking pure black unlike me who hates latte. After a few minutes, our rice meals came. A perfect timing for our our growling tummies. She is currently on a diet and trying to lessen her carbs as much as possible, giving the half of her rice to my plate. I think I'll be needing that more than her, and I happily received it.

It wasn't long right after we started eating when the stories about the past came out and narrated by her. Those were something that I have missed for over four years that we haven't meet. Well, of course, gossips, too. Not the in a toxic way but just entertaining ourselves by talking about the rumors circling around the city while sipping our coffee. After high school days, that was the best moment we ever had for now. It's nice to have dates like this where you aren't dependent from your allowance that came from your parents. You can truly savor every moment because you deserved a break like that from time to time. And, yeah, in the end, we agreed to have another coffee date when we can find some free time.
