Bird Sanctuary and Mangroves
Aside from the seafoods and beach coasts and resorts, there is still a part of Barangay Punta Taytay where I haven't discovered yet. For once, I have been thinking that it was all that the place could offer evidently. With that, we're having lesser interests going to this place as we thought that we have seen and explored most of it. However, a real gem will surely must be hidden to the crowd's plain sight.
A classmate of mine is a resident here and one time, I saw this part of the place from his stories in Facebook. So, I was mesmerized seeing how beautiful the sunset scenes here. After that, we've changed our plans to travel to Minoyan again and went here instead. Face to face classes were again suspended at this time and we're expected to stay indoors to shift to an online class modality. For us it's not a problem, it was a blessing.
We preferred to go at 4:30 pm, so the heat will be bearable. There is nothing such as free pass on the coasts here anymore, every space is occupied by private beach owners. We opted to enter at the cheapest and has the nearest route to the Mangrove trees, at the Roma.
Another perfect timing when we went here was that it was low tide, we can walk to the other side without submersing our bodies on the water. A vast fine sand dunes were ahead and I could even see different sea shells on our way there.
There were spots for Oyster farming on our way that were empty and fenced areas where there are newly planted mangroves by communities, students, and non government organizations.
Thrilled with excitement as I was going for another adventure, I barely remember that I'm an introverted kind of person. I was occupied with the exquisite beauty of the sea, sunsets, and mangrove trees. We're busy commenting on everything we see as we unveils the place as we drove nearer to the inner area.
It's sad to see some plastic grabages flushed by the waves and was left on the mangrove branches and roots. Plastic trashes were the main problem here in this local area. Though, ocassionally, there were Clean Up Drives from different communities, it just can't disappear to maintain the cleanliness of the place. From time to time, it was coming back to the shore coming from different areas or maybe thrown by the locals. It's just bad that those things ruin the beauty of these reserved areas.
On the other side of the mangroves, a rocky shore with lots of Suso Tulis seashells in our local dialect or Ivory Cerith. These are good to put in Ginataang Gabi, but these ones there are very small and can't be eaten yet. We just picked up some different seashells instead.
After a while of feasting our eyes on the beauty of our place and waiting for any birds to appear, sunset was about to began and we also decided to go back as the high tide might gradually lift the water levels and it would be difficult for us to traverse. However, on our way back, we've found another path which leads to an area with a small river and fine sand dunes. It enticed us to go and investigate why there is such a place. We've followed the end of the river but it showed us a dead end.
After exploring, we've rested here for a minute and have our fun by playing with the bamboos sticks that was washed away here and writing names on the sand.
Last time, the Water District have mangrove planting program on this area. We're curious to know if the mangroves are really growing since mangrove planting has been a regular program annually and yet, there are still a wide empty spaces on he shores. There, we've blocks of newly planted mangroves inside a fence and confirmed that they were all still alive.
We didn't stayed long in the area since it is restricted, that means that supposedly it was prohibited for visitors, but our curious minds won over law abiding selves. Let me drop this sunset to end this blog instead.
