Perfect time to take break from Everything - Winter | LOH CONTEST #159

HOLIDAY

Since my childhood my favourite season for holiday is winter! It is the season of snow but in Bangladesh there is no snow. I have always seen on online about snow and always dreamt of playing in the snow also I want to make a snowman by my own. I hope this wish of mine comes true one day. The feeling of the cold and cool air on my cheeks and ears as I step outside I start to freeze and stumble when I try to speak. I do like dress myself up in warm clothes like sometimes my mother won’t let me stay in single piece of set in winter she just wants me to wear everything in case there is a chance of catching cold. I love going for walks in the winter season because the air feels so refreshing. Inside the house atmosphere is warm moreover, my mother makes hot coffee with chocolate and warm meals which makes it precious for me. The most delicious food is “Bhapa Pitha” which my mother cooks for everyone. I truly like the environment of my house when my family is cooking together also the love of family is something that I want to enjoy in every holiday. I like watching movies with my family while it's cold outside, It's the perfect way to have fun. There are always a way to spend some quality time with family & friends during this season

In this time of holiday during Winter I do activities such as playing Badminton because that’s the only game I am good at. I want to build snowmen but it’s not possible while I am in Bangladesh. I do remember that at first when I was very young I had learnt how to play Racket well, people call it badminton but mainly it’s called only Racket in Bangladesh. There were some senior brothers who had taught me how to play. They used to take me in their team to play even though I was just a beginner. It was definitely a challenging experience at that young age but the feeling of putting my all energy to push the shuttlecock to throw on the opponents half of the field then I felt the rush of adrenaline such an amazing experience. Well, it’s a good way to stay active and warmed up during the cold season because I used to sweat a lot while playing. Anyways, playing with the seniors and some of my friends is the memory I still cherish from my childhood.

I know that during the season of winter Christmas is celebrated and New Year's which is always joyful with family and friends. But in Bangladesh Christmas is not famous or celebrated that much. But recently I have seen some people are celebrating but in the past few years I have never seen anyone even knowing about the Christmas thing. One of the reasons why winter is my favourite holiday time because when I was in school my school would only go off only during winter and allow for the holiday 1/2 months. I used to go to my mothers village home town, my grand parents would be soo happy to see me. Also, I feel that winter changes everything around me. In my opinion everything looks beautiful and calm the trees without leaves. One of my precious memories from my childhood is that I was walking to school in a cold weather, my teeth started to shiver as well as my body and wind blowing towards me cold air on my cheeks. It was an amazing experience which I will treasure forever. In my adulthood I still spent those holidays in the same way except playing the badminton because now I prefer to hang out to different places more than playing.

Overall, winter brings up many opportunities such as outdoor activities & the precious memories it creates with our close ones. The holidays and the time I have spent with my loved ones all makes winter a special season and my favourite holiday time of the year.
