Greed is your enemy
Greed, like idolatry in that it can't be quantified, drives all evil in the world. The invisible hand relies on the contrast between main ambitions and secondary impacts. If core goals and secondary consequences are kept separate, then a common good can be realised without commercial actors.
Greed drives people to participate in harmful behaviours. Greed drives many bad behaviours and crimes. Consider how often you watch court plays motivated by avarice or envy. Needing money can motivate people to steal, lie, deceive, embezzle, and murder. Greedy individuals lack contentment and spirituality.
Greed is a sin because it compromises people's loving judgement and social fairness. Sin rules the globe, according to the Bible. It's like idolatry. The Bible connects greed to idolatry, which degrades society and enslaves individuals. Greed violates God's rights.
Greed opposes love. When we love others, we give them more of ourselves than they need, sacrificing our own comfort and safety. The greatest gesture of love is selflessness. This is genuine love, and its immensity cannot be explained. Greedy ambitions can't be measured and always elude capture, making them less gratifying. When gluttony is our first priority, other goals fall.
Covetousness inhibits loving judgement. Bible views greed as a sin comparable to idolatry. Greed is the desire to acquire wealth, power, and safety at the expense of moral and spiritual integrity. Greed drives immorality. God hates money hoarders, according to the Bible. God favours charitable people, according to the Bible.
"Greed is the source of all evil," goes the saying. Money is the source of all evil, but greed and aspiration are different. Greed prioritises material gain over loving judgement and violates moral standards. It's also the root of all sin. Greedy people often neglect God and focus on accumulating fortune. Greedy people are self-centered.
