HARVEST SEASON 🌾 – FARMERS' JOY ON THE WEEKENDS
Hello everyone in the WEEKEND EXPERIENCES community a long time no see. I'm Avon, I'm happy to come back to continue sharing with everyone my wonderful experiences. Today is a busy weekend not only for my family but for everyone in my hometown because everyone has to go to the fields to harvest rice. This is my fun weekend activity and I would recommend it to everyone.
Vietnam is a country with a long tradition of wet rice cultivation and of course, my hometown is one of them. My mother used to say: “Rice farming is hard work”. To be able to harvest them, we had to work hard for 3 months. Farmers must be meticulous from the selection of seeds and sowing seeds to the meticulousness of fertilizing. Not only that, but farmers also have to observe the meteorology to divide the crop accordingly. Usually, there are two crops in a year: Winter-Spring and Summer-Autumn.
Here are a few pictures of the rice plant when it is about to enter the harvest season.
Perhaps these days, the farmers in my hometown are happy because they can see the fruits of their efforts after a long time. When the day of rice harvest came, everyone rushed to the fields to harvest rice and my family was also among them. We prepared everything after lunch and set off right after. We brought a large pitcher of cold water to drink, several large bags to receive the rice from the harvester, and also had to dress very discreetly to avoid itch-causing insects and the harsh light of the sun. Previously, harvesting rice had to be done by hand, but now it has become easier with the participation of harvesters. Because the rice seeds came out from the reaper very quickly, everyone in the surrounding fields came close and supported my family. And so we support each other.
After the harvest was completed, we moved the rice bags to a pre-rented pickup truck and returned home to continue preparing for the drying stage. The purpose of this work is to dry the rice seeds so that we can preserve them for a long time.
After the harvest, there were only straws left in the field. They are used by farmers in a variety of ways. Can be used to compost organic matter, make food for cattle in the rainy season, or can be broomed,...
I rested and returned to the field when the sun had gone down the mountain. It seems that the excitement in the fields has not ended, the harvesters continue to work. In the sky, the birds fly with pink light at the end of the day, creating a beautiful picture.
I had a great weekend with my family. Although quite tired, we are happy to see our results after a long time of work❤️

Beautiful photos, looks like autumn is very busy time to collect the harvest from fields. I believe the whole family and frends must help each other so that work is done in time.

Oh wow! It is already harvesting month in your country, as for our country, harvesting will start at the end of this month and the whole month of October until the first week of November.
oh! Maybe because the weather of each country is different, the harvest season is also different😄
Yes, a little bit different.
That's a big and happy day for your family and everyone in your hometown, I guess. Your photos are lovely and lively, I can feel I were there with the farmers.
