What if I ruled a country? (WEEK 230)
I think I would definitely not be the ruler of a country, but if I were, it requires hard work.
I thought... only three rules that I should impose on my population, they should be ones that would shape the future of the country and make it productive and prosperous, where people would be happy to be there.
This topic reminded me of so many famous books from my law school days about what a ruler should be like. Good but strict. What a fine line. Some even said that he should not be good.
On the other hand, I believe that things in life are action and reaction, cause and effect. So one important thing is that things are achieved with effort, quality and dedication or at least they should be. And those people get their reward that way. The more effort, the more reward.
Thinking about it, the first rule or norm would be about work.
Of course I imagine that there would be enough sources of work, then depending on the action of the people, the task they perform, the quality, the effort, the discipline they put into it, they would be rewarded with more reward. Directly proportional.
This issue goes hand in hand with justice, fairness. I have seen and I see many people who receive salaries without working, or doing practically nothing. Just because the government gives it to them. Everyone has to earn it. Of course there are special cases of disabled people, but that's another issue.
It also relates to a lot of other things like, whoever commits crimes, well, there will be a consequence. And everything would be in the right measure and the sanction would be applied.
Now I think about the second rule, government workers are also population, right? Ministers, secretaries and so on ad infinitum. Yes, there are often needlessly infinite public employees.
All of them, strictly speaking, are employees of the people, aren't they? They work or should work for the people. Yes, I know, most of the time this is not the case. But I have heard that in some country these are really employees, they get a normal salary without so much pomp and above all... they work.
That would be great, wouldn't it? They are our employees and therefore things as they are.
So I would set the standard or rule on this subject, a work system like any other... they are not gods.
Third rule...I have done a lot of thinking and the issues of freedom and education come to mind. There is no country that progresses without education and freedom, so I think this last rule should refer to those issues.
Compulsory education, with the necessary resources but a different education with what the person really uses later in life, what is really necessary, for example, a financial education. Traditional education is important, but maybe education should be introduced that teaches thinking and critical thinking, a complete development of the human being that gives him/her the tools to perform in life.
This type of education would give them freedom, freedom of opinion, freedom of decision, freedom to act. An education in freedom is where man can learn, because he will make mistakes and learn from them, or at least that is how it should be. Without freedom there is dictatorship, control and imposition.
That education would generate respect for others, therefore, that freedom would not infringe on someone else's freedom. It is all like a big circle.
I don't really know if I have put it as a rules, but that's what came up in my mind. Of course this would have to be surrounded by a coherent system and the possibility of materialisation, resources and so on. And there would be many more rules, I guess.
I never imagined myself a ruler and this was a good opportunity to think about an alternative universe, thanks to the weekend themes that @galenkp so creatively presents us with.
I wish you all a very good weekend, best regards and see you soon.

It has been hard for me to spot out rulers who really live up to their manifesto. It is easy to have good promises and prospects but doing it when they acquire power seems difficult. This has made us faith in politicians.
I think the same as you, that's why it was so hard for me to think of those rules, there have to be a lot of circumstances around them. Thank you very much!😃
Hola amiga!!!
Something that I would like in a country governed from my highest concerns would be to implement the absolute division of powers, I mean that never ever the judiciary should be subject to laws and constitutional norms of the party or ruler in office.
And that is one of the points that mostly sustain corruption in most countries, especially mine.
Otherwise and in general sense you are being a very good prime minister or president of your country....
You are a very versatile person dearest @amonet.
Hug.
I totally agree with what you say: without separation of powers there is no real justice and no real government. Thank you for reading me!😃
I loved your vision of how you would govern a country if it were in your hands and the three rules you have chosen
Enjoy a beautiful afternoon dear friend @avdesing
There are many more important things but I could only choose three. Thank you very much to you! Good night!
I can't disagree with the rules you raise. In particular, I can think of another one that has to do with freedom and critical thinking.
The public administration should be transparent, all citizens should be aware of all the meetings and gatherings in which politicians and civil servants participate, secret meetings in which agreements are reached with third parties, often against the interests of the majority of citizens.
This is related to critical thinking, the basis of which is skepticism. Because if we do not know the whole reality, for example, nothing about these secret meetings, we cannot make well-informed decisions.
I stay here, a very big hug @avdesing.
I totally agree, critical thinking develops... something that is lacking today and too much, few think for themselves and only believe what they are told or what the media says... thank you!!!
Buenos días!!
Buenos días!!!
Mmmm! 😃 Gracias!!!
Hasta luego! 👋
Bueno... las tostadas no me gustan pero es lo que encontré 🤣
Hasta luego!
🤣 se agradece!!! 👋

A very controversial subject. I would not dare to be president. Today it is very difficult to govern nations when we see that they want to govern you and you do not govern. Corruption in high places destroys and those who suffer are the people. You have developed the subject very well. You have more experience because you live where there is more information and you see.
Have a nice Saturday night and a nice Sunday.🥱😍❤️
Having lived in two opposing countries gives me another vision, two visions, with things that are repeated and things that are not, but still I would not be president. What a mess! Thank you very much always!🤗
A country is a very difficult thing to rule. I think you have mentioned important things... and everything has to do with justice, because you are a person who is always concerned about being fair. Knowledge, because without it there is no freedom... and work, because without it there is no production, and no serving others.
There are things to think about such as borders, exchanges with other countries, peace, avoiding interventionism and providing local and regional systems that feed back into each other. And betting on renewable energies and not promoting consumerism.
A lot of things... complicated issue. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, it is too big a topic to summarise in three rules, because it is all related. Thank you very much Nani!🤗
Hello @avdesing good morning
I really don't know anything about politics other than what my grandparents talk about, but what you say makes a lot of sense
