Somewhere else : Nerja, village paradise ❤️ (WEEK 154)

"Sometimes we can go for years without living at all, and suddenly our whole life is concentrated in a single instant."

When I was living in Argentina I couldn't imagine living anywhere else, although I did travel to different parts of the world. At that time it was just an illusion. I had never imagined that I would even move to another country as I have done.

When I arrived in Spain, I started to feel very much at home, the people, the atmosphere, it was very compatible with me.

But thinking about this issue of living in another place, I remembered that one of the first jobs I had here made me travel through many towns, most of them on the Mediterranean coast.

I worked as a salesman, selling to telephone companies and businesses, a very hard and sacrificing job, but it gave me the opportunity to travel, to get to know some towns and cities.

One of them is Nerja, when I arrived I fell in love with this small town.
It is a place that mixes the tradition, the old, the simplicity of a white village, but at the same time its particular beauty.

There are several areas that are quite distinct. The usual area of houses, shops, the normal day-to-day life. The houses are all white, old buildings on the outside, with their own style.

But there is also the tourist area, with markets, souvenir shops, beautiful restaurants surrounded by flowers, decorations and the most beautiful thing in front of the sea.

On those occasions when I went there for work, and hence these photographs that I bring you, I was able to take a moment of rest on what is called the Balcony of Europe, an incredible view.
Below, the cliffs and beaches offer postcards worth seeing, a wonderful landscape.

I walked through its streets several times and I loved the mixture of the old and the past, the history and the culture with the modern, the tourism. Both sectors are well differentiated. There is a warmth and peace in the atmosphere, in spite of the tourist movement.

It is the antithesis of a city full of noise, bustle and traffic.

Its streets are somewhat steep due to the fact that the town starts right at the beaches and then reaches the mountainous area. However, walking and strolling through the old streets is a great pleasure.

A dream place that has an attraction that I have not been able to visit yet, but I have in mind to do so: The caves of Nerja, full of unusual stalactites and stalagmites. They are very famous and get visitors all the time, a walk through geological eras and magical views.

Much of the more touristy area is also dedicated to art and that also caught my attention.

And for all these reasons and because this town is far away from a capital city, with more peace and quiet, I would love to live there.
Of all these villages that I visited in a flash, this one stayed in my heart and its beauty in my eyes.

The reunion of the past, the archaeological beauties, the sea, the nice people, and that feeling of being in a place with so much good energy is what attracted me to this white village.
