Summer is ideal for quiet walks at night with my cat son. I love walking with him, although as I always say it's him who walks me, I go wherever he says.

The night was quiet, few people on the street, it was around 11 pm.

The lights that illuminated that sector of the small park are yellow and always give me a perfect illumination to take pictures.

Tony is very photogenic, many people say. The truth is that, like any cat, he is attracted by the night, by noises. They see more at night, their eyesight sharpens and they see I think six times more. And of course more than a human being.

In that sense and in many others, I trust my two loves a lot. Tony is the one who goes for walks, Cata is more nervous and cries a lot, she prefers to stay at home.

My little lion, that's what the people who see him pass by call him, loves to walk a little and then climb a big rock. There are many of them on this walk and the lights illuminate them in such a way that when I take pictures everything seems to turn into sepia tones.

I remember when I used to go to drawing and painting and paint in sepias, I loved it.

And today when I looked at these pictures I took of Tony the other night, I noticed that everything was sepia. I loved the result.

Tony is gray, various shades of gray, but with the light, the night and the rocks, he is now sepia.

Of course being his mother I love him in whatever color he is, he is my baby.

And he loves to pose for me, although I actually think it's not intentional, he's just so abstracted in what he sees that he stays very still.

It's rare to see a cat standing still, only when he's very attentive. And I am attentive to him and follow him with the camera at all times. I've taken too many pictures, but I think these are the best shots.

I even seem to see expressions on his little face, like attention, sometimes surprise, sometimes joy, sometimes thoughtful. I always wonder what they are thinking.

These are shots I took mostly close up, focusing on his eyes or face, often in profile as he moved. There was not always immobility.

When another cat comes into view it's as if he freezes and follows it with his eyes. I think it wants to be the sole owner of that place, it doesn't lose track of it and follows it, it wants to make sure it's just passing through.

When he gets tired of a stone, he goes down, walks for a while and comes back up to another one. The idea is to always keep an eye on the area, but without losing sight of me, he is constantly looking for me with his eyes.

He is my model and I am proud of him, he is very sweet and affectionate. When we return home he clings tightly to me, he knows he is safe. But meanwhile in the park he is the king... the king in sepia tones.
