Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

Many of my designs have elements that are symbolic or refer to everyday things in life. In most cases I seek to convey a message and of course both the interpretation and the message that reaches the other person will depend on their perception and what they need to know. Nothing is casual.

There is no such thing as chance or luck, but the cards in this case do not refer to that but to the cards we have in life, as if it were a game where they turn around us.

In life, according to many circumstances we can be dealt all kinds of cards, although in reality it is said that we contract something before we come. The cards that appear in our life can be good or bad, but it is up to us to give them a good perspective and use them well, to learn from them.

The good or bad will not be the cards we are dealt in the game, but how we know how to use them. Seeing how to make something not so good become so is something you learn over time. That a bad card is not so bad.

Design process

The design is made with seven images and worked in 17 layers in Photoshop CS6, without the use of AI.

First I created a black layer and on it I placed the watercolour image which I inverted the colour in Image, Adjustments, Invert. From it I made three layers which I placed in different positions. I used the blend lighten on the three layers

On top of this I placed the image of the blue ink with a darker colour fusion. In a corner of the design I placed the first image of the cards with the difference fusion and then in the centre another of the images with the raster fusion.

The third card image I arranged in four layers in different positions, scales and rotations with the focal light fusion.

Then I worked on the image of the woman, after erasing the background. I made four layers with her with the fusions of focal light, strong light and normal light. This last one has only the woman's face. After the second card image, I selected, copied and pasted the central card and placed it over the woman's eye with the focal light fusion and erasing the part of the eye.

Finally I put the symbol on the woman's face with intense light fusion and then in the animation I made it rotate 360 degrees over the centre of that image.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

Muchos de mis diseños tienen elementos que son simbólicos o hace referencia a cosas cotidianas de la vida. En la mayoría de los casos busco transmitir un mensaje y por supuesto tanto la interpretación como el mensaje que llegue a la otra persona dependerá de su percepción y lo que necesite saber. Nada es casual.

No existe el azar, ni la suerte, pero las cartas en este caso no se refieren a eso sino a las cartas que tenemos en la vida, como si fuera un juego donde ellas dan vuelta a nuestro alrededor.

En la vida, de acuerdo a muchas circunstancias pueden tocarnos todo tipo de cartas, aunque en realidad se dice que contratamos algo antes de venir. Las cartas que aparecen en nuestra vida pueden ser buenas o malas, pero depende de nosotros darles una buena perspectiva y usarlas bien, aprender de ellas.

Lo bueno o malo no será las cartas que nos toquen en la partida, sino como sabemos usarlas nosotros. Ver cómo hacer que algo no tan bueno lo sea es algo que se aprende con el tiempo. Que una carta mala no lo sea tanto.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño está realizado con siete imágenes y trabajadas en 17 capas dentro de Photoshop CS6, sin uso de IA.

Cree primero una capa de color negro y sobre ella coloqué la imagen de la acuarela la cual invertí el color dentro de Imagen, ajustes, invertir. De la misma hice tres capas a las cuales coloqué en diversas posiciones. Usé la fusión aclarar en las tres capas

Sobre lo anterior puse la imagen de la tinta azul con fusión color más oscuro. En un rincón del diseño puse la primera imagen de cartas con la fusión diferencia y luego en el centro otra de las imágenes con fusión de trama.

La tercera imagen de cartas la dispuse en cuatro capas en distintas posiciones, escalas y rotaciones con la fusión de luz focal.

Luego trabajé la imagen de la mujer, previo borrado del fondo. Hice cuatro capas con ella con las fusiones de luz focal, luz fuerte y normal. Esta última sólo tiene el rostro de la mujer. Luego de la segunda imagen de cartas, seleccioné, copié y pegué la carta central y la puse sobre el ojo de la mujer con la fusión de luz focal y borrando la parte del ojo.

Finalmente puse el símbolo en el rostro de la mujer con fusión de luz intensa y luego en la animación hice que rotara 360 grados sobre el centro de esa imagen.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
