Cooking healthy, homemade and natural at the weekend (WEEK 176)

I enjoy and love cooking, because cooking is also art. You can invent, innovate, vary flavours, colours and even the presentation of a dish is a real work of art.
In my family we all like to cook, so we take turns so that we all have the opportunity to enjoy it.
I don't usually buy ready-made food, although sometimes I do buy stuffed pasta, but I make sure that it is of good quality, handmade. The less chemicals and the more natural the food the better.
At weekends I usually eat or prepare other types of food that are more elaborate or take a little more time. Especially when it's not summer and the cool weather invites you to eat something warmer.
Just this weekend I am cooking and although it is something simple, my family and I love it. Normally, I agree on the meal with them and in this case I chose chicken (thigh leg) with rice and tomato sauce.
As ingredients for the sauce I used carrots, onions, peppers, garlic, various aromatic herbs such as oregano, sweet paprika, meat seasoning, thyme.
Once I have chopped these ingredients, the quantity of which varies according to each person's taste, I place them in a pot with oil, to re-drown them, although some people like them a little toasted.
I put in the chicken to cook, a little bit of salt. And then the tomato or tomato sauce, to taste.
I make the rice separately, boil it with a little salt, and when it is almost ready, I remove the excess water and pour it into the previous preparation so that it finishes cooking, absorbing the different flavours.
Cheese can be added to taste.
Of course, the quantities and the part of the chicken used vary according to each person, for example, the breast is drier. And in the case of the rice, everyone uses the rice they prefer.
I tell you that it tastes delicious, I love it and I love pasta, Italian food even more.
On weekends, it brings back memories, when my maternal grandmother used to knead homemade pasta, Sundays were for Italian pasta.
Then on Sundays here with my family we make a small picada in the afternoon, with ham, olives, cheese, and most importantly, ice cream, especially if it contains chocolate, I love it. But only on weekends and special dates.
We also make homemade desserts, from time to time, we take a recipe as a base and then change it to taste and the result are delicacies like this one.
These days you enjoy different food and above all, as I always say, the important thing is good company, peace and harmony, good conversation and sharing good times.
It is important for me and my family that what we eat is as healthy and natural as possible, taking care of the small details and that the food is homemade, that way we know that it really contains the same food.

A mí me gusta cocinar, pero mi sazón no es tan buena jajaja... igual a veces tengo suerte y queda rica la comida 😅 En el caso de postres, casi nunca preparo nada porque no tengo nevera, solo un Freezer y congelar y descongelar a cada rato daña las comidas de ese tipo.
