Between the river and the avenue, flowers, trees and good energy.

Hikes become beautiful when they bring back memories and they are good ones.

20241105_172603.jpg

This walk started with a final objective, but I did it with my companion without haste. The final objective was to buy a present in a shopping centre, but before that a lot reminded us of things in life.

Recently between the Guadalmedina river and the Avenida de Jorge Silvela, a special place was prepared, a long route along the river to be able to walk, walk the pets and as I say go back to the past, although I did not know this until I was in the place.

The route begins with this sign, which tells us about the paths along the sides of the river. It also tells us some history about this river. It is almost always dry. But the first memory was when I came here, to this city, it was the only time I saw this river full of water, the only time so far.

20241105_172607.jpg

It was nice to see what they did with this place, and it was recently. Before it was just a road with no plants, no trees and even less flowers.

20241105_172722.jpg

At one point my companion told me: I know that plant and I haven't seen it since my childhood. He told me several anecdotes about this plant and its flowers. I told them that its nectar is delicious and its leaves taste like mint.

My second memory was that in Argentina we call this plant ‘menta colorada’ (red mint) and it is indeed a variety of mint. It is aromatic and beautiful.

20241105_173249.jpg

Of course there were all kinds of bushes. Look at this one with these little white flowers. It's beautiful. I know it as ornamental laurel and there are white, soft pink and darker pink flowers.

20241105_173312.jpg

I was also able to see seats along this new and much renovated road. I quickly thought of pic nic and mate. I can't help myself.

20241105_173345.jpg

I love pines and recently a Hiver told me that he only knows horizontal pines, but there are also vertical, slender and very tall ones and on this walk there are many of them. They are classified as common cypress.

20241105_173357.jpg

These mint bushes with that beautiful flower were everywhere and brightened up the walk.

20241105_173529.jpg

But I could also see the red colour very strongly, this plant is also beautiful and I have known it since I was a child.

20241105_173718.jpg

But this other one, although I had seen similar ones, I didn't know it. So I always learn a little more about plants and flowers. Above all, I like shrubs that have strange colours or two colours.

20241105_174027.jpg

This riverside path goes under bridges and just under one of them there were some flowerbeds with this plant. Again I couldn't resist getting closer to see it. A new plant I had never seen before.

20241105_174626.jpg

20241105_174818.jpg

I could see bushes and bushes on both sides of the road, some with very small pink flowers like this one and others intertwined with a variety and diversity of vegetation.

20241105_174632.jpg

20241105_174639.jpg

I always like to take pictures of the road ahead and the road walked as well. Don't forget the past to make a better future... that's what I often think about.

20241105_175009.jpg

20241105_175013.jpg

One of the most beautiful things of this tour was this tree. It was not clear to me if it is the tree of love or the Judas tree. Both names were on the sign. If anyone knows, I would ask you to tell me.

20241105_175029.jpg

20241105_175043.jpg

That structure you see in the distance shows the end of this new path that I am glad to have walked.

20241105_175343.jpg

I cross the avenue and find a path full of palm trees, a different path.

20241105_175353.jpg

Turning towards the south and to my left I could contemplate a diversity of houses, this area belongs to the district of Ciudad Jardín and its little houses are old but beautiful.

20241105_175406.jpg

As usual I dream of looking at the sky and between the palm trees very original views are created.

20241105_175448.jpg

20241105_175457.jpg

20241105_175543.jpg

It has been a very quiet walk, with chats and admiring here and there. The path is very attractive and the palm trees give it a very particular style.

I really like the houses with their front gardens and the roofs bring back memories of my home far away. I told them it was a memory lane.

20241105_175629.jpg

This palm branch wanted a close-up with its sisters in the background and I said of course I would take that picture. Yes I also talk to the palm trees.

20241105_175638.jpg

The sun was already falling and was reflecting and giving another tonality to the walls of the houses.

20241105_175711.jpg

The palm trees became dark and the posters were barely visible.

20241105_175714.jpg

And here the clouds are the protagonists, but there are always those who want to stand out.

20241105_175718.jpg

20241105_175801.jpg

If I look back it is a little brighter and the signs are still visible, it is the last rays of sunlight.

20241105_175902.jpg

In the distance the football stadium of the local team with its large structure was bidding farewell to the afternoon.

20241105_180736.jpg

20241105_175921.jpg

That was a good moment to sit on one of the benches, prepare mate and enjoy it in good company and a wonderful view of an afternoon that was coming to an end.

Thank you all for joining me on this Wednesday walk. Best wishes to all and see you soon.
Amonet.

It's a nice walk between chats and memories and flowers... but take care of yourself, I've seen that there's a red alert again for the DANA. Sorry, my friend. Please stay safe.

I am in the department .... there is a lot of flooding already, it has been raining non-stop for 5 hours and the streets in the centre are terrible... I don't know about the nearby villages. I'm not going out.... I'm hurrying to publish in case the electricity is cut off.

😟

I am glad to hear that you are safe. Keep important things, papers, ID, in waterproof bags, make a backpack with the essentials. Be prepared in case you have to leave your home.

I did not know the tree of love, many palm trees in your walk, that's nice that you were able to finish drinking your mate and with good company.

When there are paths like these, the walks are more pleasant. So many flowers, and that tree you asked about has both those names. I just consulted it with Google 😜, not that I knew it.

I choose by name love tree hahaha it seems contradictory otherwise hahaha

The truth is new that way and I loved it... today by that dry river runs a lot of water!

Gracias!! Y allá con el huracán? Abrazo!!🤗
