Embroidering gifts of friendship (EN-ES)

Greetings, my dear needlework friends. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful week, with lots of health and lots of creative projects.

Today I share with you a new embroidery project, this time one I made for a gift. As you know, embroidery has become one of my favorite day to day activities, so when I finish a project, I immediately look for another one to occupy me and give me moments to myself.

My daughter told me that she wanted to give one of my embroideries to one of her co-workers. For this, she herself searched Pinterest for the design of the letter that is the initial of her friend's name and sent it to my cell phone.

From there, I began the elaboration of this little gift for Sandra with much affection.

Sofi told me that she wanted it just like the picture she sent me, with the same shape and the same colors. So I searched among my skeins for colors similar to the ones she saw in the photo and I got them. I made this composition to show my daughter, I liked it so much that I saved it to reference the materials in this publication.

Hoy les comparto un nuevo proyecto de bordado, esta vez uno que hice para un regalo. Como ya saben, bordar se ha convertido en una de mis actividades favoritas del día a día, así que cuando termino un proyecto, de inmediato busco otro para ocuparme y regalarme momentos para mí.

Mi hija me dijo que quería regalarle a una de sus compañeras de trabajo uno de mis bordados. Para esto, ella misma buscó en Pinterest el diseño de la letra que es la inicial del nombre de su amiga y me lo envió al celular.

A partir de allí, inicié la elaboración de este regalito para Sandra con mucho cariño.

Sofi me dijo que la quería tal cual como en la foto que me envió, con la misma forma y en los mismos colores. Así que busqué entre mis madejas colores parecidos a los que veía en la foto y los conseguí. Hice esta composición para mostrarle a mi hija, me gustó tanto que la dejé guardada para referenciar los materiales en esta publicación.

This is a simple, but beautiful work. The materials I used for this project were: a piece of fabric dacron, I take this opportunity to tell my friend @artsugar, who had asked me, that this is the name of the fabric I used to make my mom's souvenirs. I also used Moulinè skeins of five colors: vinotint, old pink, olive green, mustard and a lighter pink, scissors, embroidery needle and to make this letter a picture frame.

At first, I thought of a black picture frame, but when we finished embroidering the letter, we liked the way it looked better in a white picture frame and I framed it in this one.

Este es un trabajo sencillo, pero hermoso. Los materiales que ocupé para este proyecto fueron: un pedazo de tela dacrón, aprovecho de contarle a la amiga @artsugar, quien me había preguntado, que este es el nombre de la tela con la que hice los recuerditos de mi mamá. Usé, también, madejas Moulinè de cinco colores: vinotinto, rosa vieja, verde aceituna, mostaza y un rosa más claro, las tijeras, aguja de bordar y para montar esta letra un portarretrato.

Al principio, pensé en un portarretrato negro, pero al terminar de bordar la letra, nos gustó más cómo se veía en un portarretrato blanco y en este la enmarqué.

I transferred the lettering to the fabric using onion paper and a pencil and to make the embroidery of it, I used several stitches, among them: the filling stitch, the rosette stitch, the daisy stitch, the French knot, the stem stitch and the herringbone stitch. All these stitches are very nice and I like them very much because they give relief and texture to my embroideries.

Transferí la letra a la tela usando papel de cebolla y un lápiz y para hacer el bordado de la misma, usé varios puntos, entre ellos: el punto de relleno, el rosetón, el punto margarita, el nudo francés, el de tallo y espina de pez. Todos estos puntos son muy bonitos y me gustan mucho porque le dan relieve y textura a mis bordados.

It didn't take me long to embroider this little gift, it took me about five days to assemble and deliver this gift that is made with a lot of love. I know that for my daughter it has an added value, it is a token of friendship and affection.

No tardé mucho bordando este regalito, fueron más o menos cinco días hasta el montaje y la entrega de este obsequio que está hecho con mucho amor. Sé que para mi hija tiene un valor agregado, es una muestra de amistad y cariño.
