Crochet knitted coasters (EN-ES)

Greetings, my dear friends of this beautiful and creative needlework community, I hope you are well, healthy and well being and that this is a week of blessings and many achievements.

Here I come back on this needlepoint Monday with another finished project that I really liked. Besides, it allowed me, from a mistake, to make a different pattern and, also, to learn the lesson that attention and concentration are important when knitting.

I'll tell you about it!

I decided to make these coasters for my kitchen, because the ones I have for everyday use are made of cork and, although I like them, I don't find them as beautiful and delicate as these woven ones. So, I looked for a simple tutorial on Youtube and started knitting.

The knitting pattern is simple. Knit 5 rows. The first one with 12 double crochets, the second one with double crochets and increases to complete 24 stitches; the third one with a double crochet and an increase and is repeated 10 times up to 36 stitches, the fourth round with a double crochet, another double crochet and an increase to make 48 stitches, and the last round with 60 single crochets to finish in a slip stitch.

Now, as you can see in the photos, the coasters are different in their knitting. When I already had three coasters knitted, according to the tutorial, I lost my concentration to attend to something at home, and in one of the loops I knitted the new stitches in the back strand of the stitch, creating a different design. Did I like it? Yes, I liked it!

So I decided to knit more coasters with this new design. At the end of the work I had eight coasters: four with the initial design and four with the design I made because of the mistake I made.

From this experience I learned that it is vital to concentrate and be present in the here and now. This time, the mistake was tiny, but can you imagine in a bigger fabric? I don't even want to think about it. I don't like that knitting and unknitting thing very much, only Penelope came up with this idea.

I loved knitting these coasters sets, they are simple and easy to make and the best thing is that they are knitted in a short time.
