The thing you have to try in a country is the food. Seriously, the food will take you back to that place (if it's really tasty and memorable) but you'll probably be disappointed if you don't try it. On my Vietnam trip yesterday, I visited one of the cities in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City. That city is the city in Vietnam closest to where I live, the city of Medan.

One of the things that attracted me to this country was all about the foodies in that country. In fact, even though they are from the same family, Vietnamese and Indonesian food are very different. I recommend you to visit Vietnam if you want cheap travel with delicious food and a place that has a unique culture.

Ho Chi Minh was the choice because flights to the city were quite easy and cheap, besides that the air, weather and conditions were not much different from Indonesia. It's different if you go to the cities of Dalat, Sa Pa and Vietnam which are slightly towards the Chinese border. This city is really full of food, especially street food.

You really have to try street food in Ho Chi Minh City if you are on holiday there. Whatever you see on the side of the road or in a small cart, you don't need to hesitate to try it. One of the interesting things was that when I went there, I found a woman who was 40-50 years old carrying her manual cart, she was very strong at that age and could sell very enthusiastically.

It was enough to shock me because the cart was heavy enough to carry the merchandise. She was carrying two grills made of bricks filled with hot charcoal. Well, the grill is used to burn the snacks she sells. She sells crepes made from rice flour and also banana.

These crackers are really very unique, you can see there are lots of banana pieces on top. Well, this is a snack in Vietnam called 'Bahn Trang Chuoi' or Vietnamese Banana Rice Paper. As the name suggests, this snack consists of rice flour, cassava, banana and coconut milk (correct me if I'm wrong). So, from the ingredients, this is very suitable for those of you who are vegan and want to enjoy healthy snacks. I can say this is a healthy snack because this banh trang chuoi is grilled over hot coals which can make it expand bigger.

So, the woman brought equipment for burning banh trang chuoi which was quite heavy in my opinion. I once had it at home for grilling fish, and it was quite heavy if carried alone, especially since there were 2 pieces of equipment and she was an old woman, this made me realize a little that she was really working hard to earn money.

I wasn't disappointed with the taste, in fact I really liked it. It tastes sweet, but not so sweet like ice cream. I ate it while it was still warm, because it had just been grilled and we immediately devoured it until it was finished. I bought 1 pack which contained 2, one for me and one for my husband.

At that time we ate it on the way, because we had already covered 20k steps, so I thought we needed carbohydrates while enjoying Vietnamese food and culture. Ho Chi Minh was really hot at that time, so there's no harm in trying something new, especially when it comes to food.

Well, I like the texture of banana rice paper because it is very crunchy when bitten, but the banana part is not crunchy, because there is a little sugar which makes it caramelized. It became very delicious when we enjoyed it with a glass of Vietnamese coffee at that time.

I think you should try it when you are in Vietnam, besides helping other people sell, you can also enjoy the amazingly delicious taste. The price of 1 pack of banh trang chuoi is only 25,000vnd!
