The Best Hokkien Mee I Ever Taste
"There are no better words than tasting food and the taste meets your expectations"
The tongue cannot lie, everyone agrees on that. If you find food, your tongue will send a strong signal to your brain very quickly. 'This food is very delicious', the signal could be your hands not stopping to shove lots of food into your mouth or you not stopping opening your eyes. That is one of the wonders of the body reacting to something with joy.
Today's trip really made me feel very happy, in the morning I filled myself with joy through a food that I accidentally found. At first it was probably just for fun, because in front of the hostel where I was staying there was a coffee shop which turned out to have a food stall selling Hokkien mee.
Penang, which is known as a culinary paradise, is highly sought after by all corners of the world. This city has so many types of food, really, for 24 hours it never stops 'culinary'. In the morning, at 07.00am, I even enjoyed the most delicious bowl of Hokkien mee I've ever eaten. Let me tell you, I want you to feel the same feeling.
Simple place, not many long queues because it just opened. In fact, the sun hasn't come up yet, I'm already in this coffee shop. Well, even though this is called a coffee shop, it doesn't just sell coffee shops, there are several merchants who sell food too. It's just that this morning the Hokkien Mee was open and there were already several customers waiting.
Initially, along came the cup of coffee I needed for my morning caffeine boost. because I have to move a lot and am not very enthusiastic, so I think coffee in the morning will be very helpful. Of course, this black coffee made my eyes immediately open very wide.
Shortly after the coffee came, this was the best thing this morning, hokkien mee which is my favorite food in the city of Penang. I don't know why this was the best part of my time in Penang, because in my opinion, this bowl of Hokkien mee really made me fall in love with this city and want to always come back again.
Hokkien mee, a type of food made from noodles with fresh, spicy mala sauce, full of spices. The difference is, this Hokkien mee has elements of the taste of seafood sauce, moreover it is very pronounced from the very strong shrimp broth. Almost similar to typical Malaysian curry noodles, however, the main component of this Hokkien mee broth is shrimp that is boiled for a very long time.
Every bite has a different element, especially the first straw of soup. I fell in love even more because it was topped with very chewy fish balls and fried onions which added to the flavor of the Hokkien mee. I think this noodle is a delicious halal noodle without any other elements. Because the broth looks very clear, the strength of the broth they make is really very unique.
Apart from that, there is additional fiber from bean sprouts which makes every bite feel like it has a crunchy texture. The bean sprouts used are also fresh, not soaked in hot water for too long, so the texture is still very crunchy and that's my favorite part.
Even though this morning my stomach felt very bloated from one bowl of Hokkien mee, but it made me very happy. Breakfast really made my morning feel very enjoyable today.
See you the next time hive friends!
