Recently, the issue of violence against women is rife in Indonesia. It is an issue that must be resolved, considering that violence against women is very common in countries that still have a patriarchal culture. One of the hot issues in Indonesia, where a dangdut singer named Lesty Kejora, was slammed by her husband Rizky Billar until his neck was bruised and had to undergo a series of medical treatments. Not to mention a youtube artist (husband and wife) who made a prank report on domestic violence and reported it to the police, so it went viral for not having empathy and taking advantage of the moment to get adsense from youtube.

Coinciding with the issue, I didn't know it seemed like the world was working together, there was a short film, Blonde on Netflix. Is a biographical film from the life journey of Marilyn Monroe, which tells briefly how Marilyn Monroe's life was very heart-wrenching, hard and sad. A month ago, I saw the trailer trailer on youtube and was intrigued, because Marilyn Monroe had a life to death full of question marks.

The film, which was made from a novel by Joyce Carol and represented in the film Blonde by Andrew Dominik, had a deep impression on me, as a woman who is very far from the world of the entertainment industry, it was enough to make me shocked and unable to speak. This film is rather than a biographical film, it is more suitable to be a fiction film that is too brutal.

The film Blonde presents the cruelty of women who stand in the entertainment industry who can make people entertained and make a lot of profit for the industry, but behind that, there are tears and cruelty that women get. The harsh reality was accepted by Marilyn Monroe, played by Ana de Armas, who was humiliated, sexually abused, treated sexist and toxic masculinity.

This 2 hours 46 minute film was able to traumatize me, even I watched this film gradually and made many jumps in some scenes that scared me. I'm more afraid to watch this film than the scariest horror film in the world, there is a sense of depression that occurs when watching this and too many scenes that make me regret watching this film.

When watching this film from the beginning to 25 minutes, I felt the maximum suffering, I thought that I was the only one who felt that, it turns out that many viewers were even disgusted and didn't continue watching it again until some felt very depressed.

However, my curiosity about Marilyn Monroe's life which I usually only hear from mystery podcasts and Wikipedia led me to the film Blonde. But, instead of receiving good feedback about Marilyn Monroe, I'm actually very sorry and sad, when this film makes Marilyn an exploit. I firmly believe that if Marilyn found out about this film, she would not like it. Very exploitative and abusive towards Marilyn Monroe.

Although the Blonde film is said to be one of the films that made me stroke my chest throughout the film, it is undeniable that there are many values that we can learn and understand about the entertainment industry. Blonde describes the bitterness of many dreams that are achieved, for the sake of success and revenge, many people are willing to become slaves and blind their minds, as happened to Marilyn Monroe, who is willing to do anything for her dreams, until in the end all her dreams can make her die. in a gruesome way.

Blonde is very focused on the psychological struggles experienced by Marilyn Monroe due to the cruelty and pain of the popularity she received, the world that does not know Norma Jean and complains a lot about Marilyn Monroe, the constant highlights and cameras on her, makes Marilyn have to smile over the inner turmoil she is experiencing. feel. The pain can be felt by the audience and can even cry.

The acting from Ana de Armas is so attached as Marilyn Monroe, the make up and accents that look the same, even she said the director just found a cast for 10 years struggling to get it, no doubt, Ana de Armas became a helper in this cruel film. I could not doubt it, even had time to think, why Ana de Armas could accept this offer to him.

This film also has a lot of controversies that have raised audiences from various circles, even though this film was produced and can only be watched by +18, I don't think this film should be watched by people who are easily triggered by sexual violence against women. Especially for those of you who have anxiety problems, I hope when watching this you have a companion and it's best not to watch it.

One thing that I think is important, that the film Blonde is a violent pornographic fiction that is very cruel, torturous and aimless. I don't understand why this film was made so cruelly, who the audience is looking for and why it had to be made so cruelly. I don't understand why so many people like it, it's so vile and abusive, I don't think any woman can watch it without empathy.

However, the taste of the film depends on each individual. I don't think this film should have been made that way to support Marilyn Monroe all her life.

See you the next time hive friends!

Representing reality as it is may help other women to avoid going through similar situations.
We have been raised, in part, with the mentality that we must be beautiful and please men, when our value lies within ourselves.
But unfortunately the macho culture continues to think more than female self-esteem.

I agree but beauty is actually just to entertain yourself. That being beautiful becomes an absolute thing as a woman, it can be from within yourself.

I think this film is too much in conveying the grief of a Marilyn, so cruel this film seems to open the pain again.

También he leído sobre ella y visto muchos documentales, quizá es por eso que está película no me llamaba la atención, pero después de leer a varios usuarios acá la quiero ver. :)

Greetings friend, I managed to read the book and I also saw a movie of her, and the truth is that it is a very strong story, in search of fame and success, Marilyn's beauty led her to lock herself in the world of the mafia, politics and machismo, a place where many times you are not worth anything, I have not seen this movie, I hope to see it soon and share my opinion, thanks for mentioning it.

I think you should watch it to see how exploited Marilyn is in the entertainment world and how cruel the industry is to her.

This can be a very emotional and heart-wrenching biographical film, where biographies should not be supplemented with excessive fiction. This film should be better if there is a purpose, but unfortunately this film only opens the bitterness of Marilyn's life without the slightest feeling of happiness.

I think is not good for Marilyn, I think this film is so pointless. But you can watch it first to know if this is a good film or not.
