Croissant Heaven in Penang

I have been to Penang once, a small city that I think is very pleasant. This small city is separated by an island from Malaysia, but not too far from Kuala Lumpur. If you walk from Kuala Lumpur it must be tiring, but there are direct flights to Penang.

I have many stories about the city of Penang, but, one thing that makes me miss Penang so much. Croissant. There is a cafe that is very famous for its pastries in Penang. La Vien Rose, one of my favorite places in Penang, I will go back to that city again for a croissant at La Vien Rose. Crazy! The food makes it very difficult for me to forget that city.


The Heaven of Croissant

Many people say that the tongue cannot lie. That's true. It even tends to be more factual than believing that the earth is flat. I trust my tongue more, not someone's mouth. Whoever, please trust your tongue, it is more honest than anything. Like the taste of a croissant at La Vien Rose.

I fell in love from the first bite. The croissant was so soft, like cotton with many layers. All the layers of flour and butter blend perfectly, like thin flakes, savory and crunchy in one bite.

Testing the delicious taste of a croissant can be seen from just one menu, a croissant without any toppings. Butter croissant is the best of all croissants, in my opinion, this menu is the best in trying the quality of croissants.

At La Vien Rose, I ordered 2 types of pastries and 1 iced americano. Wouldn't the americano neutralize the sweetness of the 2 pastries, because if I added latte, it would make the delicious taste of everything I ordered disappear and have no distinctive characteristics.

If you are curious about the second type of pastry I ordered, it is the beautifier of everything on my table. Called lemon cake. It is really beautiful and similar to a rose flower, the leaves look real because they are emphasized with the remains of light burning to create sharp lines. This cake is like a painting, of course not and this is a real cake. On the bottom layer, there are slightly hard cookies, then given a cream that tastes like a combination of whipped cream and marscapone tatua. The texture is thick but very soft when it reaches the tongue. Of course, the aroma of lemon and sour taste are the most pronounced of all.

I like the taste of lemon cake, even though it is made of cream, it is not too sweet, what there is is a different taste. A little hint of smoke from the remaining burning on the top layer, but it is not too pronounced at all.

Enjoying this pastry by myself. Yes, I am alone to enjoy all my food. Without anyone. I enjoy my me time very well and am given the freedom to enjoy food. Whatever it is, the normalization of people like me who want solitude at the dining table or go to a cafe alone. Of course, I will be very happy with everything I eat.

First, I must commend your beautiful pictures. they are really looking nice. Oh, I see they are already edited with lightroom. Great work there.

I think I may have eaten something of the same shape as the croissant. I can't really remember what they call it here but from what I could remember, because it has been a very long time ago, it tasted really good.

Croissants are very delicious because they have quite a high fat content, but croissants are usually judged by their crunchy outside and soft inside.
