As a lover of Chinese food, including Asian food, I really like various types of dishes with the most important spice value. My country is blessed with quite a wealth of spices, so that from the colonial era, this country was very hot for being used as a spice mine.

Quite famous for its rich spices, that's what makes my country have a lot of diverse food menus, such as rendang, curry, stews and many others that I can't mention (there are so many). I am grateful enough to be born in this country because it is a food heaven.

As is the case with the menu that I made this time, inspired by the many vegetables in the fridge. Wait, yesterday my mother's friend delivered lots of carrots and Chinese cabbage. I thought for a moment to process the two vegetables to be able to fill the whole family.

We know that these two vegetables are very high in nutrients and vitamins, and taste sweet even though they are just boiled. I seem to have come up with a brilliant idea to make those two vegetables into something extravagant. Because you are very bored with the monotonous menu, even though it is still very tasty if you just boil it.

I also really want these two vegetables to be able to become foods that are high in nutrition and protein to help me in my diet program. I need tofu as the main protein and also minimize oil, so this recipe, of course, still uses sesame oil but is low in fat. Chinese Cabbage Rolls with Tofu
The Recipe


To make Chinese Cabbage Rolls with Tofu, there are several ingredients that will be used, apart from that, always follow step by step in making Chinese Cabbage Rolls with Tofu, use quality ingredients, Hivers!


Ingredients;

  • 1 Chinese Cabbage (big size)
  • 2 pieces of tofu (200 gr)
  • 1 carrot (grated)
  • Onions, 4 shallots, 2 cloves of garlic and 2 red chilies.
  • 2 pcs green onions
  • 1 tsp sesame
  • Sesame oil and chili sauce
  • 1 tsp mirin
  • Pinch of salt, pepper and mushroom broth
  • 400 ml of water

How to make Chinese Cabbage Rolls with Tofu;

  • Thinly slice shallots, garlic, red chilies, leeks. Grated the carrots, can also be sliced thin to have texture.

  • Add sliced shallots, garlic, leeks, tofu, carrots, salt pepper and mushroom broth (adjust the amount according to taste). Stir until everything is evenly mixed.

  • Boil Chinese cabbage until wilted or soak in boiling water for 3 minutes. It is meant to be easy to roll.

  • Take 1 spoon full of dough then place it on Chinese cabbage, then fold and roll it to cover the dough. Arrange on the wokpan.

  • After that, put water into the wokpan until the Chinese cabbage is submerged, boil over medium heat for 10 minutes.

  • Mix pepper, sesame oil, chili sauce, mushroom stock and mirin in a small bowl, measure according to taste.

  • Then pour the seasoning into the wokpan and leave it for 5 minutes or until the water has reduced. Sprinkle the sesame on top.
