A ghost hotel, Lasocki Palace, and the park on Wizard Street - a farewell to golden autumn in Krakow.
I'm working hard on sorting out the photos from my trip to Prague, of which there are almost a thousand. I think it might be some compulsion - I always take at least 3-5 of the same shots, and then I have to browse all of them and choose the best. It will probably take me another week to embrace the chaos.
In the meantime, not to fall out of the writing routine, I'll show you my dear Kraków again. It was one of the last autumn's walks before visiting Prague. Autumn is admittedly still going on, but the aura is already winter, so such memories are all the more enjoyable.
The beginning of November was beautiful - it was pleasantly warm and sunny. I started my walk from the Forum Hotel, a relic of a justly bygone era. It was the last breath of that time, as it opened in 1989 after more than ten years of construction. It was modern for those times and conditions in Poland, but it only operated until 2002. I had the opportunity to visit it once at that time - my prom was held there.
It now serves as the biggest billboard in Krakow (although I haven't seen any advertising on it last time) and a relaxation center for locals and tourists. There's a large food and beverage area, a beach with deck chairs in the summer, a viewing balloon and a mill wheel.
The rooms have been empty for more than 20 years - the building will never again serve as a hotel, because it does not meet the building requirements. There is still no idea how to develop it.
Meanwhile, nature works.
Opposite the hotel, on the other side of the Vistula, we see the Church on the Rock - behind it stretches the Kazimierz district. A little further to the left - Wawel Castle.
Let's walk along the right bank of the Vistula towards the Debniki district. I love this part of the route; it is moving us away from the old city, and it's very peaceful - the boulevards end here, and the bank of the river becomes wilder. We are on Tyniecka Street. On the other side, you can see a religious complex - a 13th-century Norbertine Monastery, standing over the mouth of the Rudawa to the Vistula.
Behind the Monastery stretches Salwator, a small villa neighborhood from the early 20th century. I love walking around it, as it is full of modernist houses, gardens and quiet corners. From there, it's close to Kosciuszko Mound, which you can reach via charming Washington Avenue. This time we watch Salwator from the other side of the river.
Let's return to our side of the Vistula, as we are just passing the Lasocki Palace, built in the mid-19th century. It is beautifully situated - the northern facade (from the alley) faces the river, with a large park on the other side.
The view from the side of Debnicki Park.
I've been here several times before, but always in late autumn or early spring. For years I've been promising myself that I need to come here in summer when everything is blooming - so far, I haven't managed yet :) Anyway, Debnicki Park is beautiful any time of the year.
At the end of the walk, I invite you to another park in the area, located on Wizard Street. It is small and magical at the same time. I caught the last golden flashes of autumn there.
My city is like a best friend with whom I can talk endlessly about the same things. I will never get bored ;)
Greetings from Krakow! I will try upload some photos from stunning Prague soon :)

Hi @astinmin, the colors of the leaves look beautiful and contrast perfectly with the landscape,no doubt your town has beautiful places to visit.
Greetings!
Thank you for such a nice feedback 🌼
Greetnigs!
Such a tranquil ambiance.. I love those autumn colors 😊
🍂🍁🍂🍁😊
It is strange how the room is empty since 20 years ago, sounds a little scary. All I have heard about my family is that most of them sharing the different stories about ghosts, some argue that ghosts doesn’t exist. Personally, everybody has their own beliefs. Well, what I can say about your photography is that all of them are beautiful like each of them turns out so fresh with a wonderful atmosphere surrounding. Really appreciate!
Thanks for stopping by and nice comment :)
Well, maybe the spirit of communism is wandering there 😉
Maybe many people had a good time in that hotel in the old days. I feel sad when I see such old buildings.
Beautiful Krakow! I love the autumn colors, adding up to the spooky atmosphere of the abandoned hotel! The building seems to be in a very good condition , it's a shame it's not being taken advantage of. Great documentation and photography @astinmin , thanks for sharing :)
The building is in pretty good condition; the main problem is the floors are too low; they have a maximum of 2,4m (and a minimum of 2.7m is required).
Thanks for stopping by 🍂🍁
Muy buenas capturas que lograste a, están súper 👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you 🌼🍂
Thank God I'm not the only one! It happens the same to me! In fact, right now that I'm having a huge break in my routine, I'm taking the time to even enjoy pictures from my trips. Thank God I arrived at Hive, because here I have the proper place to actually talk about them and select the best! But it's a difficult job as you said.
Thanks for this pictures, I prefer in this way, to see different perspectives, colors, sizes from the same place or landscape.
I've never been to Prague, but everybody says that I have to, so I probably will.
Have a great day!
Yeah, Hive is also a perfect place for me; what would I do with all these photos 😆
