Political Instability And Death of Democracy in Pakistan

Democracy is the Public's Power in a Country. It makes sure that every right of each citizen should be protected and delivered by the Government. I like the Democratic Words of the Founding Father of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah,

"Pakistan is a constitutionally Democratic Parliamentary Republic State whose foundations are based on Islamic Laws"

In Pakistan, the General Public elects their candidates for their representation in the Parliament by Voting. These successful candidates then vote for the Party Head for the Prime Minister Seat. After the Prime Minister and Public Election, the PM elects his cabinet after a discussion with his party. The parliamentary cabinet is led by the Prime Minister, and the President plays the role of Head. This is the democratic system in my homeland from 75 years.

Democracy Crisis

After a few years, when Pakistan came into existence on the World's Map, its democracy started dwindling. Some undemocratic faces derailed and harmed it by irreparable losses. The founder of Pakistan died and some Historical Books mentioned that he was given poison. The Decorators and Anti-Democratic Forces gradually started taking control of the country. There was a time when Pakistan was making progress by leaps and bounds, but these evil forces made it a nightmare for Pakistan in the Future. Currently, Pakistan is on the verge of economic destruction. Many economic stats mentioned that sooner Pakistan will default. There are the following reasons behind it.

  • Interference by Establishment in Ballet Paper Voting Process
  • Political Engineering by Business Men and Stock Holders
  • Poor Voting System
  • Lack of Democracy
  • Corruption and Nepotism

Due to the above crisis, Political Parties are elected by the Establishment instead of selected by the General Public through Fair and Transparent Voting.

Pakistani Politicians are Bitches of Establishment.

After every five years, the Election Commission in Pakistan is alleged for not conducting Fair Elections. In the Current Election through Ballet Paper, there was a top trend Form 47 Government in Pakistan in the whole World. Some evidence proved that Election 2024 was the most biased one.

Reforms for Survival of Democracy in Pakistan

The current voting system through Ballet Paper is totally corrupted and unfair. We need to bring Electrol Voting System. There should be an election between the Heads of Political Parties so that the party system in Pakistan will be finished. Moreover, we need to give voting rights to overseas Pakistan. Pakistani in any part of the world can submit their vote for their favorite candidate. There will be well-trained and educated staff by Pakistani Judiciary who will monitor the electronic voting system. Democracy should be remodeled according to the dream of Jinnah.

Final Thoughts

Pakistan is one of those countries that were built in the name of Democracy. Its existence is nothing without it. Its derailing and manipulation from strong or corrupt mafias is merciful. We need to modify our voting system from the bellat paper to the electoral voting system. I hope we shall see some revolution and movements that will change the fate of my homeland. Currently, we are facing many issues and there is no democracy. A powerful man can do anything, and a weaker gets punished by the Judiciary.

What democratic system do you have in your country? Are you satisfied with it? Or you want reforms in it. Must tell me with your precious suggestions. Thanks!

I believe it's the same issue in many third world countries, democracy hasn't been a thing for decades just because of the corrupt people in power who just go there for their selfish interest.

The whole problem boils down to the fact that the citizens are not speaking in one accord, it's a bitter truth that some citizens despite all these problems are still in favor of bad governance and dictatorship.

Whether it is Nigeria, Pakistan, or Sri Lanka, we all have the same issues in our democratic system. We need to hang up the corrupt people and amend the Laws. The worst situation happens when Laws encourages corruption as well.

This is a world wide disease that is why we are all suffering it today. I thought that Nigeria is suffering from anti- democracy but now I know that every one else is suffering same fate.
Thanks for sharing

Most underdeveloped countries have the same reasoning for lacking democracy. We need to discourage anti-democratic forces and must put taboos. Thank you for visiting.

In Philippines, citizens that works outside the country can vote in the Philippine Embassy and I think that it is a privilege they deserve for their contribution of sending outside revenue to the country so it should also be given on Pakistani that resides in other countries.

The challenges being faced by third world countries are similar. Corruption is the major causative factor of all of these. We practice a presidential system of government in Nigeria and the story is the same if not worse. The system is so expensive that the majority of the country's resources is spent in servicing the leaders at the detriment of the people. It's very bad.

Inflation and Poverty both are fruits of Corruption. We need to bring sincere people in Parliament if we want to grow. I hope, things will change in Nigeria soon, don't worry man.
