How to Control Snoring?

Hello StemSocial Community! Welcome to my blog. Nowadays Snoring is a very common problem that causes sleep discomfort. It is very hateful, especially for people who are sleeping around us. It is not impossible to treat it anymore. I have controlled it within 5 days in my cousin; hence, I have come up here with a solution. After reading my post, you will be able to treat snoring nicely. Let us learn about it before we disturb someone's sleep or someone disturbs our sleep.

What is Snoring?


Snoring is a sound that is produced by the tissues or flaps in the throat while breathing especially when we are sleeping or dozing. This Unpleasant sound is a big reason for disturbance in the sleep-wake cycle. A snoring sound can be like a Whistle sound in some people who are affected by Asthma.

Reasons

There are many reasons that directly or indirectly lead to snoring. Let me summarise some here.

1. Nasal Obstruction

Sometimes, nasal tissues or flaps get an injury that results in a change in their circumferences. Sometimes there might be a blood clot or duts particle or influenza mucoid discharge causing temporary obstruction. In all these causes, there can be snoring with low or high frequency.

2. Overweight

Snoring is a big problem in obese persons. When a person becomes overweight, there can be fat growth around the tissue in the throat that results in snoring.

3. Sleeping Position

If a person is Sleeping on their back, then there can be snoring due to the backward position of the tongue and soft palate.

4. Alcohol or Sedatives

Alcohol or Sedatives like Benzodiazepam resulted in snoring. When a person is asleep after their intake, there happens to be complete relaxation of throat muscles; hence, low-frequency snoring can be witnessed.

These above reasons can result in prominent snoring. To avoid snoring, we should do the following things.

  • Never sleep on your back
  • After having a meal don't go to sleep
  • Don't take alcohol when you are ready to sleep
  • Avoid Sleep Deprivation
  • Try to reduce your weight by exercise
  • Remove Nasal Congestion

Snoring Treatment

When we visit a doctor, he can suggest us following things.

  • Oral Appliances i-e dental mouthpiece. We need to fix them into our mouth so that air passages will remain open for smooth breathing

  • Continuous Positive Airway Pressure can help in removing snoring. Just we need to wear a mask over the nose or mouth

  • Surgical Intervention: sometimes nasal congestion is hard to remove and we need to open the upper airway. In this case, we do surgery and remove things that are resulting in Snoring

  • Sleeping in an Incline position sometimes he helps remove snoring


Final Thoughts


A large population of the world is affected by snoring. It is sometimes the reason for sleep discomfort, but it can be deadly. Especially when the nasal congestion resulted in complete blockage of the windpipe. If we are facing snoring, then we should contact the doctor and take an approach that is essential before facing any complications. Snoring was a big problem in our family. After discussing it with the doctor, I get a detailed review of it. Now my cousin has no snoring and I'm happy to sleep in his room without any sleep discomfort.

Snoring is also bad habit while in sleeping. It cause sleepiness for a while. Of course we can prevent it after taking measures.
