EDIBLE PHONE CASES are the latest trend on the island of Borneo. Many local restaurants are so creative that they now offer a combo set with matching meal and smartphone case.
This is ASEAN Hiver the "Pineapple Under The Sea" paired with the "Pineapple Mousse Smartphone Case." I can't see this trend lasting very long, but it certainly is bizarre and interesting. I'd love to see some menu pics if any else of you find a place like this.

These two YOUNG BOAT RACERS just finished a project they've been working on for years. They built their own mini longtail racing boat to compete in the junior Thai longtail racing boat circuit.
It's hard to believe these two daredevils want to get into longtail boat racing at such a young age, but even wilder that they built their own boat from scratch. With their cross-cultural ties they could introduce the sport to Malaysia one day.

The MOST ASIAN BIRTHDAY CAKE EVER was revealed in Indonesia recently by one of our own ASEAN Hivers. A mound of rice is about as Asian it gets, and it looks to be topped with crispy shallots and served with fried eggs.
Me personally, I think if you can jam birthday candles into it, it's a birthday cake. Why do the rules of cake have to be so rigid anyhow? It's about time cake adapted to modern times before it ages out of existence.
