This week's featured Hiver is a valued delegator and also produces some very interesting content. He is an American living in Japan, and as I quite enjoy seeing life through the eyes of migrants, immigrants, and those living outside their own language, country, or culture, I enjoy his blog post for these same reasons.
This man has many talents, and many of them have been shared here on Hive, most recently his taste and talent for art. If you scroll back far enough you'll even see he has musical talents as well. Japan is a country that has always fascinated me, and although I'll never visit because my Cambodian life savings could easily be spent in a few days just eating and paying for guesthouses, I can at least learn about this place from the foreign citizens that live and work there.
Have you heard of the Cross Culture Commmunity before? Well it's a place for sharing thoughts about language and culture here on the Hive blockchain, and its creator is the one and only @selfhelp4trolls via his old profile @whatamidoing. I highly recommend you check out his community project in addition to his personal blog, you'll find plenty of engaging and interesting posts there.
He recently mentioned he's made some connections revolving around eco-tourism, and because I particularly love Japanese garden design, I am looking forward to potential future posts with new and interesting gardens to check out. Well, that about sums it up for this awesome ASEAN Hiver. Be sure to visit his blog directly, because as an American living in Japan, he doesn't have much SE Asian content to share, but he still chooses to selflessly support this community.

Congratulations @selfhelp4trolls, this is a great achievement. One thing I must say here is that as we get to see the User of the Week, we also get to learn something new about him.
Thank you! I was surprised to see this post, and honored 🔥
I am glad you enjoyed this, and @selfhelp4trolls is definitely a Hiver worth learning more about.
Wowwwww thanks! This makes me want to write something about my Indonesian studies which have been interrupted by my Japanese studies and other projects. I will get back to it eventually and I shall post in this community!
The space I went is a gift economy based eco village which isn’t really inviting tourists so much as people who can contribute to the community. But if anyone wants to come visit I’m sure they’ll be happy to show you around, as they showed me around 😆
I forgot, once upon a time you mentioned you were learning Bahasa once upon a time. Bahasa right, not Javanese or some other Indonesian language? The Khmer language has Javanese roots among other languages, and I've actually heard some Bahasa words that mean the same thing in Khmer.
Sounds like you have stumbled into a new interesting world of eco folk over there. I am looking forward to see where these paths lead.
