5 Unusual Job in Indonesia

Hi, I am Arveno and i am from Surabaya city Indonesia. I want to make content about my country Indonesia. I believe there is many different and similarities with other countries about my country. But, i am pretty sure there is many things that only happening in my country not in another country. And there is 5 different unusual Job in my country that i think it will be very different to another country.

1. Wild Parking Service

The first unusual job is Wild parking Service or in my country called Tukang Parkir Liar. They does not have any rights or any supported law to do as parking services.But, many people still doing it and never given up even though the goverment giving them ticket or more worse they can be send to jail.

And mostly many people fed up with this people and giving them money to avoid problems with these people. Me also do that, we are too lazy to having problem with these people. They can broke our motorcycle of flattening our tire if we are not giving them money. And if we report to police station, mostly the police dont think the problem exist.

2. The Panders

The second job that very unusual in my country is called The Panders or we usually called these people Calo. Sometimes they can very helpfull but usually they can be very troublesome. Especially when you are person who are straight with the law.

These people mostly helping other people whenever they dont want to queue especially in goverment business. Many goverment institution are very slow services in my country. Thats why many people that having time utilize this opportunity to be a new job. I had use this service ones or twice in my life. Yeah when i am really busy these people are very helpfull. But, if i has time to do it myself, this service is really really annoying. These people will charge you twice or more from the total price if you do it by yourself. Imagine that. And yeah of course this job is never got taxed. Thats why goverment hunting these people nowdays.

3. Traffic Helper

In my country the road is not neat at all, there still road that very chaotic especially when time is for school activity in the morning or time to working and end working. Mostly the situation is similar. There are traffic everywhere and some of the people did not have patient and they can break the rules that can harm the other people and make some accident. Thats why some people utilize this opportunity as a job.

So, these people helping traffic police to breaking down the traffic or helping to make people can be alternate with other people in the road so the traffic is not jammed. And these people helping to reduce the accident from traffic too. But, these people did not get any salary. They got donation from people that past through these people.

4. Tire Repairman

I dont know in another country but, in my country there are thousands people still using motorcycle than car. And there too few the real tire service or tire workshop in every city. And when the tire is got flat, it will be very hard to going to real tire service right. Thats why many people seeing this opportunity as business. We called here as Tukang Tambal Ban. They are very helpfull especially like people like me that having motorcycle as the main vehicle. We dont know when having the bad day or suddenly the tire gotten flat in road. So, we just need to remember tire repairman place in our usual way.

Usually these people just placing the air pump in the side of the road in the crowded traffic. So, they can have big chance to having people with flat tire. And while we waiting these people patching the tire we just talking or waiting and sitting in the sidewalk. Mostly it just took time around 25-30 minutes until done. And the tire can be used as usual again. Yeah these people is like saviour for many riders in my country.

5. Rain Charmer

I dont know in your country guys, but i think this job is my favourite in this content. That is Rain Charmer or we usually called Pawang Hujan. These job is like not realistic job. Because these people can controlling the rain. And i dont know why they said mostly work. As my experience having job as Event Organizer that having job outdoor. I dont think these people really can handle the rain. it just coincedence i think. Or maybe they can read the sign from wind, humidity, time, or something like that. So they can tell the people not having event there cause that place will having rain and these people cannot change the cloud or something like that. But, many people in my country still believed with this ritual like shaman that can controlling rain. Since in my country many people still believe in ghost and mystical being.

And you know what i heard some of these people getting paid really high almost thousand dollars in one event to prevent the rain coming. And when the rains still come they said that it is the GOD's Will and cannot undone it. Thats pretty funny excuse right? Yeah, but since in Indonesia is really religius, they can accept that excuse.Truthfully i never using this service before for myself. Even when my wedding day, i just said if the rain is coming then it is okay we cannot defy the nature right. Just so be it.
