Have you been to Big Bay Beach?

Have you been to Bloubergstrand and walked along the white sands of Big Bay Beach?

Big Bay is a beach of Bloubergstrand, which is located approximately 30 kilometers North of Cape Town city center on the west coast of South Africa.

It's a very popular beach for surfing, Kiters and Windsurfers especially walkers like us Lol!

It's one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in Cape Town.

The name Bloubergstrand in English means Blue Mountain Beach it was given that name because of the blue haze hovering over the mountain top.

The lovely view of Table Mountain, a famous land mark of Cape Town, can be seen in the distance, giving the place an awesome feeling of peace and tranquility.

The clean paths and the smell of the Fynbos (Fine bush) shrubs, adorning the area with it's beautiful array of yellow and white flowers, and the sound of the waves, is enough to satisfy one's soul.

The Atlantic Ocean I believe, is in the region of between 10 and 17 Degrees Celsius, making it very cold even in the middle of summer. My grandson Caleb, never surfs with out his wetsuit, said it's too cold Hehe!.

In Summer the winds are very strong which attracts the windsurfers and kiters. One of the most amazing sights to see.

Big Bay Surf and Life saving Club is a popular meeting spot for the youngsters.

"Lekker by die see" means "It's nice by the see" and that is no lie, one of my favorite places in South Africa.

I took some photographs of some beautiful murals on the side of a restaurant wall along the beach walk.

There are quite a lot of different Restaurants and hotel accommodation along the beach over looking the Sea.

In holiday season, this place is buzzing with tourists, all shapes and sizes, making it quite an interesting place to sit and observe.
When I'm in Bloubergstrand Cape Town, I love to sit outside one of these Cafés and watch the people pass by, wondering where they're from and who they might be.
An inspirational place to be if you're a writer Lol!
I like to single out a group and create characters around them, and write a short fictional story, it's great fun, especially if one is in a writers workshop group, it's amazing what is created out of it in the end, it really gets those creative juices going.

This Topiary in front of a Restaurant, artistically and brilliantly shaped into a bull and hippo, fascinated me. I couldn't resist taking a photograph.

I just love the Architecture of the buildings along the West Coast, giving it a modern Mediterranean feel, clean and fresh.

The side walk Cafes and Restaurants are plentiful, catering for all one's needs and appetites, satisfying the taste buds.

Well... my dear friends, thank you for coming along with me on a walk along Big Bay Beach in Bloubergstrand on the West Coast of Cape Town South Africa, I'm going to park myself on the bench and breath in the fresh sea air and listen to the waves make their beautiful music and rejuvenate my soul.
