Sublime Sunday: Celebrating Mother's Birthday
Celebrations!
Fresh off the New Year, we celebrated my mother's birthday yesterday. Instead of preparing something at home, we just decided to go and have a simple, late lunch outside.
She wanted to go "window shopping" for tiles but as we went and look for places to avoid heavy traffic, we ended up at the diversion road in Batangas City.
It's been a while since we were here, and we realized there were lots of new restaurants here. After going to the shops to check for a mobile phone for my cousin, we went to Conti's Bakeshop and Restaurant.
The food was great. Value for money, hmmm... maybe so. We paid for an average of $10 for each person.
Though the order takes a while to be served. I was telling the fam, it's because they're giving us a chance to talk to each other while waiting for the food. LOL.
As usual, we forgot to take a group picture for keepsakes!
We dug right on the food as soon as it was served. My roasted beef with mushroom sauce was divine. 🤤
Bravo!
Dessert were mango bravo and blueberry cheesecake. Just because the Little Miss wanted cheesecake for NYE, but we didn't know where to order. We also weren't able to make because they didn't have baking utensils at home. haha.
And then coffee...
So sweet!
My sister and I ordered Salt Caramel coffee after the meal. Dang, it was too sweet! I should have stuck with my go-to Americano. I really am not a fan of these coffee. The sugar gave me the kick, not the caffeine.
Anyhow, Little Man was quick to point that they put a heart design on the coffee even if I asked for it to be put on a take-away cup. I wouldn't have noticed.
He tried a sip, and quick review from Little Man:
"It was sweet at first so I liked it, but there was a bitter after taste. So I like it, but I don' like it."
For the chickens.
My father said before we left home, that it seems that his chickens won't have dinner again. Lol. But hey, we did not go tiles window shopping, so we were able to go home a bit early.
So the chickens still got fed. kruuuukkk! krrruuukkk! 😁
There was a slight drizzle as we drove. "Ambon-ing", as Little Man described. "Ambon" is the Tagalog word for drizzle.
Little Man always inserts at least one Tagalog word in his sentences, and the Tagalog verbs would also have -ing, or -ed for present and past tenses. haha.
