Nigerians' Perspectives on Cats

Some people believe that having cats in their houses brings good fortune, attracts luck, makes good companions, and shows affection to those who breed them and live with them. Some believe that cats are prophets of wealth, and some people believe that Cats' razor-sharp spiritual perspectives terrify evildoers. Cats purify society and purge the house of unclean spirits.

These positives are no longer applicable to Nigerian society, which has been dominated by the black cat since Hubert Ogunde, the father of Niger theater, released his blockbuster movie "AIYE" in the late 1970s. AIYE further harmed the physical and spiritual presence of cats in our society by referring to them as "abodes of witchcraft.

Cats are highly spiritual creatures that guard and support rather than engage in evil deeds, according to the Yoruba Tradition of IFA and Orunmila, Baba Agbonmiregun. Homes are typically inspected and purified before cats are introduced. Before introducing cats to some homes, Orunmila recommends that IFA be consulted.

After owning a cat, my perspective on them Changed

This incorrect belief could cause cats to go extinct in Yoruba civilization because they are not witches and are not associated with bad luck. It is clear that in Yoruba spirituality, each animal represents one thing or another. Dogs, cats, rats, birds, hens, and a variety of other animals play important roles in Yoruba mythology because they provide every community with the services that are required of them. However, cats are also loyal to their owner like dogs too, and feel this is why many western likes cats as well.

I think cats make excellent pets, and ever since I had one, my opinion of them has altered. I initially thought that the creature is possessed and only hangs out with witches and wizards. however, kitties are fantastic.

Below are some images of my pet "Kate". She has been so wonderful since I adopted her at the age of seven weeks. I've never had a dull time with her. She plays, eats, and sleeps a lot, lol, and won't allow me to get any shut-eye at night. Please add more information about your pet in the section below.
