HoloZing Animated Dividers - Free To Use

A few days ago I was looking around the HoloZing Community when I came across this post, in which @saydie shows how he made some beautiful HoloZing-themed dividers:

Now, it's not that I'm a graphic designer or anything like that, but looking at them I couldn't help but think that I too would have liked to attempt something like this, trying to give my small contribution to the HoloZing Community and create some dividers that could be used in future posts about this very promising game.

So I dived into GIMP, a program with which I used to have fun creating graphics for one of the teams I used to play on when I had more free time available, and attempted to make... well, anything!


My basic idea was to create an animated picture showing different game creatures.

So, first, I drew... a black circle! 😂

actually it's the characteristic blue of the images released by @holizing, but with the low brightness I work with it looks like black ahahah

yeah, you have to switch for a second to the light mode to be able to see it!

You have to start somewhere, right? And, also, this sphere that reminds me a bit of a pokeball looked perfect to contain HoloZing's creatures!

So I proceeded to add some lighting effects and the creatures that, to date, have been revealed: the four starters and MIU evolutions!

Then, since the goal was to create something that could be used as a divider, I added a horizontal element, adding more lighting effects and recyclin ... er, giving new life to the usual divider that you can find at the beginning and end of my posts.

Put it all together I thought I was done, because it all sounds easy and fast when described with words, but to even do these things alone already took me several hours... but, after a short break for dinner, I realized that I was not fully satisfied and that something was still missing.

Here it is! With the HOLOZING word displayed, the divider reaches its final form and finally acquires a form... right? 😅

At this point I got the idea to make two separate versions: one with the 4 starters and the other with MIU evolutions.

Yes, because while reading this post you may actually think that everything happened following a logical flow, in a neat and accurate manner... but the truth is that the process was more like a rebus in which GIMP and I were trying to figure out what each other wanted, often with very dubious results 😂

Thus created, after several hours, the two different versions, I was finally able to start the process of making the two gifs - three if we also consider the cover, which obviously also caused me its own troubles...

Several more hours later and many, many attempts later, finally the animated dividers were ready!



They won't be masterpieces, and there will be a thousand flaws that I don't see right now, but honestly I'm satisfied with how they turned out - I don't know if it was what I had in mind at the beginning, but, after all, even I don't know what I had in mind at the beginning ahahah

Without a doubt, they are something, and creating something was the initial goal, so I guess I can say I succeeded!

What I like the most is, by the way, that as new creatures come out, I might create more similar dividers: not only that, the dividers could even be customized with the favorite creatures of a certain player, or regarding a certain event, or simply with a mix that could attract the reader's eye and thus new players.

Yes, maybe, all things considered, something worthwhile came out of it!

Of course anyone who would like to use them can do so: I will probably be the only one using them, but if by chance someone gets the weird idea to do the same... please feel free to do it!

Qualche giorno fa stavo curiosando all'interno della Community di HoloZing quando mi sono imbattuto in questo post, in cui @saydie mostra come ha realizzato alcuni bellissimi divisori a tema HoloZing:

Non che io sia un grafico nè niente di simile, ma vedendoli non ho potuto fare a meno di pensare che anche a me sarebbe piaciuto provare a realizzare qualcosa del genere, cercando di dare il mio piccolo contributo alla Community di HoloZing e creando dei divisori da poter in futuro utilizzare nei post dedicati a questo promettente titolo.

Per cui mi sono buttato su GIMP, il programma con cui un tempo mi divertivo a creare le grafiche per uno dei team in cui giocavo quando avevo più tempo libero a disposizione, ed ho cercato di dare forma a... be', qualcosa!


L'idea di base che avevo in mente era quella di creare un'immaginata animata che mostrasse varie creature del gioco.

Per prima cosa ho perciò disegnato... un cerchio nero! 😂

in realtà è il blu tipico delle immagini rilasciate da @holizing, ma con la luminosità bassa con cui lavoro sembra nero ahahah

Purtroppo sì, bisogna attivare la modalità chiara per vederlo!

Da qualche parte bisogna pur partire, no? E poi questa sfera che ricorda un po' una pokeball mi sembrava perfetta per contenere le creature di HoloZing!

Quindi ho proceduto ad aggiungere un po' di effetti luminosi e le creature che, ad oggi, sono state rivelate: i quattro starters e le evoluzioni di MIU!

Poi, dato che l'obiettivo era creare qualcosa che potesse essere utilizzato come divisorio, ho aggiunto un elemento orizzontale, aggiungendo altri effetti luminosi e ricicland... ehm, dando nuova vita al classico divisorio che potete trovare all'inizio ed alla fine dei miei post.

Messo tutto insieme pensavo di aver finito, perchè descritto a parole sembra tutto facile e veloce, ma per fare anche solo queste cose già mi erano partite svariate ore... ma, dopo una breve pausa per cenare, mi sono accorto che non mi sentivo ancora soddisfatto e che mancava ancora qualcosa.

Ecco qua! Con la scritta HOLOZING a caratteri cubitali il divisorio raggiunge la sua forma definitiva e acquista finalmente un senso... giusto? 😅

A questo punto mi è venuta l'idea di realizzare due distinte versioni: una con i 4 starters e l'altra con le evoluzioni di MIU.

Sì, perchè in realtà a leggere questo post potreste pensare che tutto sia avvenuto seguendo un filo logico, in maniera ordinata e precisa... ma la verità è che il processo è stato più simile ad un rebus in cui io e GIMP tentavamo di capire cosa volesse l'uno e cosa l'altro, con spesso risultati molto dubbi 😂

Create quindi, dopo svariate ore, le due versioni ho finalmente potuto dare inizio al processo di creazione delle due gif - tre se consideriamo anche la cover, che mi ha ovviamente anche lei dato i suoi bei problemi...

Svariate ulteriori ore più tardi e tanti, tanti tentativi dopo, finalmente i divisori animati erano pronti!



Non saranno dei capolavori e ci saranno mille difetti che in questo momento non vedo, ma onestamente sono soddisfatto di come sono venuti: non so se era quello che avevo in mente all'inizio, ma in fondo nemmeno io so cosa avevo in mente all'inizio ahahah

Indubbiamente sono qualcosa, e creare qualcosa era l'obiettivo iniziale, per cui penso di poter dire di avercela fatta!

La cosa che mi piace di più è, tra l'altro, che con l'uscita di nuove creature potrei creare altri divisori simili: non solo, i divisori potrebbero persino essere personalizzati con le creature preferite da un certo giocatore, o relative ad un certo evento, o semplicemente con un mix che possa attirare l'occhio del lettore e quindi nuovi giocatori.

Sì, forse tutto sommato è uscito fuori qualcosa di sensato!

Ovviamente chiunque voglia utilizzarli può farlo: probabilmente sarò l'unico ad usarli, ma se per caso a qualcuno venisse la strana idea di fare altrettanto... si senta libero di farlo!

Per ora si tratta di un titolo ancora in sviluppo sul quale si hanno poche informazioni: quando uscirà, però, sarà un gioco simile a Pokemon, in cui dovremo impersonare un "Healer" (una sorte di guaritore) per trovare e catturare le varie creature che popoleranno il mondo di gioco. Le creature catturate potranno poi essere addestrate, potenziate ed utilizzate per catturare creature ancora più forti e rare. Il team di sviluppo è composto da molti veterani di Hive e il "fondatore" è Acidyo.

Allo stato attuale esistono soltanto il token di gioco (ZING, ottenibile tra l'altro con una delega all'account @zingtoken) ed alcuni immagini delle future creature (che sono quelle che puoi vedere nelle immagini animate presenti nel mio post!).

Sul sito https://holozing.com/ è possibile fare il claim delle proprie ricompense (ad esempio quelle da delegazione di cui ti dicevo poco sopra) e trovare il whitepaper!

That is a very valid concern. I mean they are absolutely beautiful. But when used with <br> spacing, they just take up too much space.
I am excited to see whats next ;)

I'm already working on a new, improved and - most importantly - thinner version, with an extra effect between the transitions from one creature and the other... a few days and it will be ready! :)

This is cool. I thought we already have a divider but here we got a better one. Honestly I like this animated divider and will be using it in my next post. Thanks so much for your effort in designing it.

Grazie mille!! :) A vedere il lavoro finito a me ogni volta viene da pensare "chi li guarderà penserà che ci saranno voluti 10 minuti per farli", quando a me - con le mie competenze, o meglio incompetenze 😂 - magari ci sono volute ore ed ore per arrivare alla versione finale (come si può notare anche dai nomi dei file che ti lascio qui sotto, dove si può vedere come via via aggiunga numeri e/o cambi nome all'immaine per raccapezzarmi fra le mille copie che devo fare ogni volta che modifico qualcosa ahahah)

Già solo inserendo quella stringa tutti i principali frontend di Hive (Peakd, Ecency, INLeo, etc) dovrebbero far comparire senza problemi l'immagine, ma altrimenti se vuoi questo è il codice completo che utilizzo io ogni volta che voglio caricare un'immagine:

Fra qualche giorno (metà della settimana prossima, se riesco) dovrei fra l'altro farne uscire una nuova versione, più snella (qualcuno mi ha fatto osservare che l'attuale occupa un po' troppo spazio) e con qualche effetto in più, che nelle mie intenzioni dovrebbe rendere il tutto più accattivante - almeno spero 😅

per quello che dicevi sopra, io penso che parecchi di noi hanno paura a fare domande o perché non vogliono ammettere che sono inesperti, o per mancanza di coraggio o per non fare brutta figura.

io penso che parecchi di noi hanno paura a fare domande o perché non vogliono ammettere che sono inesperti, o per mancanza di coraggio o per non fare brutta figura.

E' assolutamente possibile, però è un peccato perchè andiamo a perdere proprio le interazioni più sincere, e questo a "vantaggio" di commenti spesso abbastanza inutili (nei post degli utenti più "ricchi" infatti è sempre pieno di commenti chiaramente fatti solo per cercare di farsi amico l'autore del post e sperare di ricevere indietro qualche bell'upvotes... davvero pochi fanno domande o magari esprimono opinioni diverse per dare vita ad una qualche forma di conversazione).

I like them because, firstly, they are very beautiful and eye-catching and secondly because they do not distract the reader's eye too much, or at least it is not tiring to stop and look at the separator for a few minutes.
