My Aerial Garden

I lived my first fifty years at home, in houses with gardens and patios, this means that they were houses with land before and after, this location of the house allows planting what you like and what the conditions allow for maintenance.

By this I mean that if there is enough water for irrigation, conditions of the land to plant, from a fruit tree, also trees that provide shade (it is important for me because of the radiant sun of the area where I come from) ornamental plants with or without design, a vegetable garden with medicinal plants, also vegetables, yes, as I say, whatever you want you can have in your garden.

And that according to my criteria is a marvel, a dream that I enjoyed until I moved to another city, when this happened what I felt most as a loss, was the plants that I cultivated and also the possibility of the relaxation that opens a hose and water them one by one, this according to the availability of water, to do the agricultural work in a garden is the most pleasant and relaxing thing that there is, it is even used as therapy.

Now I live in an area that has the best climatic conditions, with some water deficiency but that can be remedied and the space to develop my love for plants is 6 mts by 38 cms, after the first impression even with the decision that we would live in an apartment, we did not let that discourage us and I have to thank that the family who lived before also liked plants and found something nice and so we continue to maintain and equip a garden despite the fears of living in an apartment.

It is a garden that in its dimension houses the coexistence of four shrubs, these are two cayennes, a trinitarian variegated and croton, variety of Cactaceae ranging from queens of the night to simple cactus, bromeliads, which are the ones that feel better here, the famous zamioculca, aloe vines of different sizes, whose flowers are the favorite food of the hummingbird that visit us every afternoon.

Other smaller aloes also live here, at one time we insisted on orchids but the light conditions did not like them, the marantas are my favorites and I tried to make a collection even though the photos did not fit because I could not find any, one or another Haworthia and others that I will describe later.

And just as there is a variety of plants there is a variety of materials, from plastic to ceramics, recycling, and crafts that can change from one place to another according to the criteria of one of the two, which causes small conflicts that sometimes result in a dead plant because it did not like the place where it stayed for a long time, one of my most used phrases in this particular is "when we see a happy plant in a place do not move it".

An air garden as I call our planting space, and the variety of what is sown allows us to enjoy different types of leaves in shape and color and flowers daily since permanently some of the plants present brighten up the day offering color and beauty, and the possibility of admiring nature in its incredible variety only in this item for all that the plant kingdom offers us.

It is easier to take care of the plants we live with today, they are at hand, steps away from each other, the watering is done manually, in an artisan way, carrying the water from another point of the apartment, watering with much stealth because the neighbor of the lower floor does not like that even a drop of water falls on his trellis, Levy has his preference with some containers and I for others, and yes, maintaining this garden is with two hands, sometimes three with the support of @ynaamelia my sister.

Perhaps some of you may have experienced the excellent impression made on the roads of Venezuela by the houses in the rural areas with all their simplicity and humility surrounded by ornamental plants, with the location of the plants as if by carelessness, nothing planned, a plant arrives at the house and is placed where we like it best.

They are placed in the exact point where we believe that the conditions of sun or shade benefit the plant according to our knowledge of it, that is the style that I like and I have tried to maintain in my homes, I admire the gardens that are the product of a project, where there is nothing out of place, each plant well selected and located with their peers, yes, they are beautiful, but I like ours as well, as we have it.

Our visitors are admired by the amount and variety of plants that are found in an apartment, but what refers most is the vibe, the good energy that offers space, and makes me feel proud and grateful for the contributions, collaboration, and special care of "my faithful gardener" that as I told you is my pair in the care of the garden.

I conclude by saying that when you like something and you want it no matter where you are and in what conditions, you will make it possible, secondly no matter the fashion, style, what magazines say or what others think is beautiful, if I like it, that's it and I will enjoy it with as much love as I put to build it.

Jardín aéreo.

Viví mis primeros cincuenta años en casa, casas con jardines y patios, esto quiere decir que eran casas con terreno anterior y posterior, está ubicación de la vivienda brinda la oportunidad de sembrar lo que más te guste y lo que permitan las condiciones para el mantenimiento.

Con esto quiero decir que si hay agua suficiente para riego, condiciones del terreno para sembrar, desde un frutal, también árboles que aporten sombra (tiene importancia para mí por el sol radiante de la zona de dónde provengo ) plantas ornamentales con diseño o sin él, un huerto con plantas medicinales, también hortalizas, si, así como digo lo que te provoque puedes tener en tu jardín.

Y eso según mi criterio es una maravilla, un sueño del que disfrute hasta cambiarme de ciudad, cuando esto paso lo que más sentí como pérdida, fue las plantas que cultivaba y además la posibilidad del relax que brinda abrir una manguera y regarlas una a una, esto según la disponibilidad de agua, hacer las labores agrícolas en un jardín es de lo más placentero y relajante que hay, hasta es utilizado como terapia.

Ahora vivo en una zona que cuenta con las mejores condiciones climáticas, con alguna deficiencia de agua pero que se puede subsanar y el espacio para desarrollar mi amor por las plantas es de 6 mts por 38 cms, después de la primera impresión aún con la decisión de que viviríamos en un apartamento, no dejamos que eso nos amilanara además de que tengo que agradecer que a la familia que vivía anteriormente también le gustaban las plantas y encontré algo bonito y así continuamos manteniendo y dotando un jardín a pesar de los temores de vivir en un apartamento.

Es un jardín que en su dimensión alberga la convivencia de cuatro arbustos, estos son dos cayenas, una trinitaria variegada y un croto, variedad de cactáceas que van desde reinas de la noche a sencillos cactus, bromelias, que son las que mejor se sienten aquí, la famosa zamioculca, las sábilas de diferentes tamaños , cuyas flores son el alimento favorito de los colibrí que nos visitan todas las tardes.

También viven aquí otras aloes más pequeñas, en un tiempo insistimos con orquídeas pero las condiciones de luminosidad no les gusto, las marantas son mis preferidas y pretendí hacer una colección y ni la fotos me quedaron porque no encuentro ninguna, una que otra Haworthia y otras que después describiré.

Y así como hay variedad de plantas hay de materos , desde plastico a cerámica, reciclaje y artesanía que pueden cambiar de un lugar a otro según el criterio de uno de los dos, lo que hace que se generen pequeños conflictos que a veces resulta en una planta muerta porque no le gusto el lugar donde se quedó por mucho tiempo, una de mis frases más usada en este particular es "cuando veamos una planta feliz en un lugar no la mudemos".

Un jardín aéreo como le digo a nuestro espacio de siembra, y por la variedad de lo sembrado nos permite disfrutar de diferentes tipos de hojas en forma y color y de flores diariamente ya que en forma permanente alguna de las plantas presentes nos alegra la jornada ofreciéndonos color y belleza, y la posibilidad de admirar a la naturaleza en su increíble y gran variedad solo en este item por todo lo que nos ofrece el Reino vegetal.

Es más sencillo cuidar las plantas con las que vivimos hoy, están a la mano, a pasos unas de otra, el riego lo hacemos manual, en forma artesanal, cargando el agua desde otro punto del apartamento, regando con mucho sigilo porque al vecino del piso inferior no le gusta que le caiga ni una gota de agua en su enrejado, Levy tiene su preferencia con algunos envases y yo por otros, y si, mantener este jardín es a dos manos, a veces a tres por el apoyo de Yna mi hermana.

Tal vez algunos puedan haber vivido la excelente impresión que causa en los caminos de Venezuela las casas de las zonas rurales con toda su sencillez y humildad rodeadas de plantas ornamentales, con la ubicación de las plantas como al descuido, nada planificado , va llegando a la casa una planta y es ubicada dónde más nos guste.

Se ubican en el punto exacto en el que creemos que las condiciones de sol o sombra beneficien a la planta según tengamos conocimiento de ella, ese es el estilo que me gusta y he tratado de mantener en mis hogares, admiro los jardines que se nota que son producto de un proyecto, donde no hay nada fuera de lugar, cada planta bien seleccionada y ubicada con sus pares, si, son bellos, pero el nuestro me gusta así , como lo tenemos.

Nuestros visitantes se admiran por la cantidad y variedad de plantas que se encuentran para ser en un apartamento, pero lo que refiere la mayoría es la vibra, la buena energía que ofrece el espacio, y me hace sentir orgullosa y agradecida por los aportes, colaboración y cuidados especiales de " mi jardinero fiel" que como ya les dije es mi par en los cuidados del jardín.

Concluyo diciendo que cuando algo te gusta y lo quieres no importa dónde te encuentres y en qué condiciones, tú lo harás posible , en segundo lugar no importa la moda , el estilo, lo que digan las revistas o lo que a otros les parezca bonito, si a mí me gusta, eso es y lo disfrutaré con tanto amor como el le puse para construirlo .
