Spending this weekend was truly beautiful, a source of pride from the social activities I did with the team that morning.

After settling in Lhokseumawe, I had to learn many new things, including learning many things related to my new job.

Working as a coastal area manager is very confusing at first. However, I continue to dig up new information in dealing with developments and the work I do. One of the things I do is find out about organization and social work as a volunteer that are related to my work.

A few months after I settled in Lhokseumawe, I discovered an organization called Turun Tangan Lhokseumawe, which was founded by the people and youth of Lhokseumawe city. They are volunteers who are ready to take action on various problems related to the environment in Lhokseumawe City. I think this is a very positive activity. They also openly recruit volunteers who want to participate.

Exactly two days before this activity was carried out, I received information from the organization that they would carry out mangrove maintenance activities, namely repairing most of the mangrove plants that had been planted by adding a piece of bamboo as a passenger pole.

That morning, I immediately went on a trip after receiving information about the activity, they had determined a meeting point for the volunteers. Following narrow roads on an automatic motorbike, I passed village roads filled with local livestock. My main goal was to go to another volunteer's residence to take bamboo pieces that had been prepared by volunteer members a long time ago. We immediately continued our journey to the activity location. When we got there we parked the motorbike and unloaded the bamboo and took it near the mangrove plants.

The mangrove plants have grown well. However, there are some plants that fall due to high tide. We immediately dismantled the wood that had been prepared and then made repairs to the mangrove trunk. When the activity was underway, we distributed tasks to each volunteer so that this activity could be completed more quickly.

My friend and I installed this wood as a support for mangrove. Next tie it with raffia rope. We don't tie it too tightly, but instead leave some slack between the plant stem and the rope.

After everything is finished tie all the bamboo pieces to each mangrove stem. The mangrove looks so sturdy, we are sure this will enable the mangrove to survive until it matures.

These bamboo pieces will really help the mangrove continue to grow well until the mangrove is big and sturdy. Our great hope is that they will at least help prevent erosion on this beach. Even ,now the tide continues to rise and is very close to the beach. We really hope that with this program, the beaches and city of Lhokseumawe will be better than before.

As a government employee, I am very happy with the enthusiasm of this social activity carried out by volunteers in this city. They are willing to spend their weekends with social activities like this, for the common good. Apart from making the city of Lhokseumawe better, the big benefit is that it can protect the environment and nature by preventing erosion in the coastal areas of the city sea.

After we did our activities on the beach, we hung out for a while at the nearest coffee shop in the city of Lhokseumawe. There we relaxed while expanding our knowledge about the city of Lhokseumawe, including Want to fix it the city of Lhokseumawe to be even better

Today is a very memorable new experience, I usually spend weekends at home or just traveling. But this time it became a positive social activity in my life. It has even become useful experience and knowledge in work. In opinion, this was the best weekend experience of my entire life in doing social activities. Especially in improving and preserving nature by protecting mangroves in coastal areas, especially in the city where I live now. Hopefully this activity can continue in the future, until this city becomes the best mangrove urban forest in the future.
