Food Overload...

Hello my dearest Hivers.

How are you today? I hope all is well with God's loving grace and mercy. Thankfully, my family and I are all fine, and thanks be to God. It's always a blissful day every time we wake up and welcome another brand new day, and we can continue to do our daily tasks or activities at home, in different work areas, at school, etc.

I always do the same activities at home every day, especially preparing food for the family. Today, I want to share my random food in one day. This was our food from breakfast to dinner yesterday.

Every morning, our breakfast would mostly be some wheat bread with different kinds of sandwich spread. Sometimes, we also have some oatmeal like yesterday. We had banana and honey flavor Quaker oats plus fresh banana fruit. It's more flavorful if you add some sliced fresh banana to your oatmeal. We all love this kind of food.

Then suddenly, I was craving for some "tapsilog food." Tapsilog is a popular Filipino breakfast dish that combines three ingredients: Tapa (beef), fried rice, and fried egg. Nowadays, there are a lot of variations in "silog" dishes like tosilog, (tocino, fried rice and egg) bangsilog ( bangus or milk fish, rice and egg), cornsilog ( made with corned beef) hamsilog ( made with ham) and many more.

Bangsilog and tosilog are my favorites. But we don't have bangus and tocino but we have some corned beef. So, I cooked cornsilog for our lunch yesterday not for breakfast. I also didn’t make fried rice, but just plain brown rice. It was still good and yummy.

For our afternoon snacks, it was somewhat unhealthy but very tasty. It was a dark chocolate cake which my younger sister brought last Sunday. They came to our house last Sunday for her son's school project. My nephew asked for some help from her ate @tegoshei for his project. We were so happy because we seldom see each other because of the busy schedule at school and my sister on her obligations to the family too.

Last Sunday was a cheat day for all of us because I did not cook our food personally, instead we just bought lechon manok (roasted chicken) and pork barbecue that day so that we could have some time to chat with my sister while my daughter and her cousin did the painting.

They brought cake, banana toron, and bibingka for us last Sunday and there's still some leftover cake. And that's what we had for our snacks yesterday paired with hot tea. Mine was green tea while my daughter @tegoshei was chamomile tea and as for my husband, he chose to just have water. We also had some sweet potatoes. That was a sumptuous snack indeed.

As for our dinner, I made creamy mushroom tuna pasta. One of my daughter's ever favorite pasta especially when it is spicy. That was a satisfying food day for us again and we are always grateful to our Almighty God for this blessings. No matter how poor and simple my family is, our tummies are always full. I hope the same goes for every one of us here and even for those people who are not here in this community, especially for those least fortunate families. I'll just end up my post here for today and I hope you like it.

Thank you so much and God bless!

It depends with the flavor of the oatmeal. We had banana and honey so it goes well and is compatible with fresh banana. If other flavor like chocolate maybe that goes weird with banana..heheh but i can understand you, we have different preferences in food in fact my daughter doesn't like to eat oatmeal before but later she used to it and loves to eat it til now..😊
