¡Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! – Coastal Sentry, River Hellondale & Dr. Blight For Battles With Super Sneak Ruleset

¡Saludos comunidad! En el reto de esta semana quiero hablarles sobre una estrategia que aplico con el Splinter de Agua. En partidas con la condición de batalla “Super Sneak”, siempre y cuando el resto de las condiciones presentes permitan el uso de monstruos con daño mágico, y con un límite de maná alto. La cual consiste en tomar ventaja en la partida combinando las habilidades: “Double Strike”, “Inspire”, “Resurrect” y “Poison”. Las cartas clave que permiten llevar esta estrategia a cabo son: El monstruo “Coastal Sentry”, que es del tipo común, y pertenece a la edición Reward/Soulbound/Chaos Legion. El monstruo “River Hellondale”, que es de tipo legendario, y pertenece a la edición Chaos Legion. Y el monstruo “Dr. Blight”, que es del tipo legendario, y pertenece a la edición Promo/Chaos Legion.

Greetings community! In this week's challenge I want to tell you about a strategy I apply with the Water Splinter. In games with the battle condition "Super Sneak", as long as the rest of the conditions present allow the use of monsters with magic damage, and with a high mana limit. Which consists of taking advantage of the game by combining the abilities: "Double Strike", "Inspire", "Resurrect" and "Poison". The key cards that allow this strategy to be carried out are: The "Coastal Sentry" monster, which is of the common type, and belongs to the Reward/Soulbound/Chaos Legion edition. The "River Hellondale" monster, which is of the legendary type, and belongs to the Chaos Legion edition. And the "Dr. Blight" monster, which is of the legendary type, and belongs to the Promo/Chaos Legion edition.

Combinar estas cartas, y sus habilidades en partidas con la condición de batalla “Super Sneak”, teniendo en cuenta que el resto de las condiciones presentes permitan el uso de monstruos con daño mágico, y con un límite de maná alto, puede hacer mucho la diferencia en nuestras batallas. Ya que Coastal Sentry posee una buena cantidad de daño físico, el cual se duplica gracias a su habilidad “Double Strike” que le permite atacar dos veces en el mismo turno. Por otra parte, River Hellondale, además de contribuir con su daño mágico, ofrece soporte mediante sus habilidades: “Resurrect” e “Inspire”. Las cuales permiten revivir a un monstruo que en este caso sería el objetivo de los ataques de tipo “Sneak”, el aspecto relevante de esto, es que revive con toda la cantidad de armadura que tenía, y sin efectos negativos. Por otro lado se incrementa en 1 punto el daño físico de la composición. Por último, Dr. Blight, aparte de contribuir con su daño mágico, sus habilidades: “Camouflage”, “Poison” y “Affliction” permiten tomar una gran ventaja en la batalla, ya que él no podrá ser atacado hasta que llegue a la primera posición, y además de ello, tiene la posibilidad de aplicarle el efecto “Poison” y anular la curación al enemigo. Cabe destacar que dependiendo de las circunstancias de la partida, puede complementarse la estrategia con otros monstruos. Por ejemplo, también suelo incluir a monstruos como: “Alva The Crusher”, “Diemonshark” y “Djinn Oshannus”. Otro aspecto a resaltar es que juego en la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno, uso estas cartas en los niveles que observan en la imagen, y hasta ahora, su desempeño ha sido bastante bueno.

Combining these cards, and their abilities in games with the "Super Sneak" battle condition, taking into account that the rest of the conditions present allow the use of monsters with magic damage, and with a high mana limit, can make a lot of difference in our battles. Coastal Sentry has a good amount of physical damage, which is doubled thanks to its "Double Strike" ability that allows it to attack twice in the same turn. On the other hand, River Hellondale, besides contributing with its magic damage, offers support through its abilities: "Resurrect" and "Inspire". The relevant aspect of this is that it revives with the full amount of armor it had, and without negative effects. On the other hand, the physical damage of the composition is increased by 1 point. Finally, Dr. Blight, apart from contributing with his magic damage, his abilities: "Camouflage", "Poison" and "Affliction" allow him to take a great advantage in the battle, since he cannot be attacked until he reaches the first position, and besides that, he has the possibility to apply the "Poison" effect and cancel the healing of the enemy. It should be noted that depending on the circumstances of the game, the strategy can be complemented with other monsters. For example, I also usually include monsters such as: "Alva The Crusher", "Diemonshark" and "Djinn Oshannus". Another aspect to highlight is that I play in the Silver league in the Modern format, I use these cards in the levels that you can see in the image, and so far, their performance has been quite good.

¡Pasemos a la batalla! Como les mencioné anteriormente, mi estrategia consiste en utilizar dichos monstruos en partidas con estas condiciones, por lo que decidí usar al Splinter de Agua. Otro aspecto a tener en cuenta es que invocadores como: “Kelya Frendul” y “Pembrook Nymph” se ajustan muy bien a la estrategia. En la siguiente imagen pueden observar las condiciones de la partida.

Let's go into battle! As I mentioned before, my strategy is to use these monsters in games with these conditions, so I decided to use the Water Splinter. Another aspect to take into account is that summoners like: "Kelya Frendul" and "Pembrook Nymph" fit very well into the strategy. In the following image you can see the conditions of the game.

Usé a Kelya Frendul con el propósito de tomar ventaja de los atributos que otorga, y porque ya los monstruos Gladius estaban permitidos en el Challenge. Un aspecto a tener en cuenta en estas circunstancias es que necesitamos monstruos en las últimas posiciones que aguanten lo suficiente el daño “Sneak” del enemigo. En la primera posición usé a Djinn Oshannus, ya que cuenta con buenos atributos para esquivar tanto el daño físico como mágico. En la segunda posición usé a Coastal Sentry con la finalidad de tomar ventaja mediante su habilidad “Double Strike”. En la tercera posición usé a River Hellondale con el propósito de tomar ventaja mediante sus habilidades “Resurrect” e “Inspire” en la partida, además de contribuir con su daño mágico. En la cuarta posición usé a Diemonshark con la finalidad de proteger al resto de la composición en caso de que el monstruo en la siguiente posición muriera, y también contribuir con su daño físico. En la quinta posición usé a Alva The Crusher con el propósito de tomar ventaja mediante su habilidad “Shield” y “Bloodlust”, y también contribuir con su daño físico. Por último usé al Dr. Blight con la finalidad de tomar ventaja mediante sus habilidades “Poison” y “Affliction”, y también contribuir con su daño mágico. Como pueden observar, complementé la estrategia con monstruos mencionados anteriormente, mi composición se basa en una ofensiva con una mezcla de daño físico y mágico con el soporte necesario para resistir lo suficiente y hacer la diferencia. En esta oportunidad me tocó enfrentar a una composición con un daño físico elevado, y además la invocadora “Lux Vega” que cuenta con un buff más además de los que otorga “Kelya Frendul”.

I used Kelya Frendul in order to take advantage of the attributes it grants, and because Gladius monsters were already allowed in the Challenge. One aspect to take into account in these circumstances is that we need monsters in the last positions that can withstand the "Sneak" damage of the enemy. In the first position I used Djinn Oshannus, as he has good attributes to dodge both physical and magic damage. In the second position I used Coastal Sentry in order to take advantage of his "Double Strike" ability. In the third position I used River Hellondale in order to take advantage of its "Resurrect" and "Inspire" abilities in the game, besides contributing with its magic damage. In the fourth position I used Diemonshark with the purpose of protecting the rest of the composition in case the monster in the next position died, and also contribute with its physical damage. In the fifth position I used Alva The Crusher with the purpose of taking advantage through his "Shield" and "Bloodlust" abilities, and also contribute with his physical damage. Lastly, I used Dr. Blight in order to take advantage of his "Poison" and "Affliction" abilities, and also contribute with his magic damage. As you can see, I complemented the strategy with monsters mentioned above, my composition is based on an offensive with a mix of physical and magic damage with the necessary support to resist enough to make the difference. This time I had to face a composition with high physical damage, and also the summoner "Lux Vega" that has a buff in addition to those granted by "Kelya Frendul".

En el turno 3 de la ronda 2, Diemonshark abatió a Shieldbearer, y mediante su habilidad “Trample” debilitó a “Arkemis The Bear”. El enemigo perdió a su monstruo con “Taunt”. Ahora el daño de mi composición se centraría en las últimas posiciones enemigas. Aunque mi composición contaba con 1 monstruo más, aún no podía confiarme, todavía quedaba por luchar.

On turn 3 of round 2, Diemonshark took down Shieldbearer, and through his "Trample" ability weakened "Arkemis The Bear". The enemy lost his monster with "Taunt". Now the damage of my composition would be focused on the last enemy positions. Although my composition had 1 more monster, I still couldn't be confident, there was still more to fight.

En el turno 7 de la ronda 3, Coastal Sentry abatió a Chaos Knight. A esta altura de la partida, ya había perdido a Alva The Crusher. Sin embargo, el enemigo ya sólo contaba con 4 monstruos de los cuales sólo 3 podían atacar. Mi composición aún contaba con 5 monstruos pero aún quedaba por luchar. Cabe destacar que las cartas clave seguían de pie.

On turn 7 of round 3, Coastal Sentry took down Chaos Knight. At this stage of the game, he had already lost Alva The Crusher. However, the enemy had only 4 monsters of which only 3 could attack. My composition still had 5 monsters but still had to fight. It should be noted that the key cards were still standing.

En el turno 14 de la ronda 4, Dr. Blight abatió a Arkemis The Bear, a esta altura de la partida mi composición ya sólo contaba con 3 monstruos, y la del enemigo con 2. La batalla estaba muy reñida. En el turno 5 de la ronda 5, River Hellondale abatió a Jared Scar, el enemigo ya sólo contaba con 1 monstruos por lo que el rumbo de la batalla ahora sí estaba más que definido. Finalmente, en el turno 3 de la ronda 6, Coastal Sentry abatió a Silvershield Knight. Terminando la batalla. ¿Qué hizo la diferencia entre las estrategias? Si bien la composición del enemigo contaba con un elevado daño físico, y habilidades de soporte. No incluyó en su composición habilidades como: “Double Strike”, “Camouflage”, “Poison” y “Resurrect” que terminaron haciendo por mucho la diferencia. Lo que resultó en una gran desventaja para él. On turn 5 of round 5, River Hellondale killed Jared Scar, the enemy only had 1 monster, so the course of the battle was now more than defined. Finally, in turn 3 of round 6, Coastal Sentry defeated Silvershield Knight. What made the difference between the strategies? While the enemy's composition had high physical damage, and support abilities. It did not include in its composition skills such as: "Double Strike", "Camouflage", "Poison" and "Resurrect" that ended up making the difference by far. This resulted in a great disadvantage for him. In the following images you can see all this.
